ON TWO WHEELS BEN

3 жыл бұрын

Jumped of a ridge and landed on a rocky section , lost the front end and fell on the right. Both me and my buddy took some hits and l lost some skin while the Himmi lost some plastic .. took rest for 2 days , managed to order parts and started work day before yesterday . bike up and ready for the next ride now . This video is a quick walk though of the damages that both me and the bike endured.

Take care Ben and ride safe. I was shocked on seeing the bruises on your legs. More than bike we should take care of us first by wearing a good riding pant and jacket with level 2 protection/level 2 protection knee and elbow guards. It would have definitely saved you from bruises. You know much more than what I know on safety aspects. Today, I am buying my riding gears as this is more important than accessories for the bike. Get well soon Mr.Ben.

700 rupees. I am glad you made it through relatively well. The thing I like most about the Himalayan is the ability to pull out the metal, a bit of sanding and a bit of paint to make it look almost as good as new. Thanks Ben.

I've watched later videos, so I know you're okay. Great attitude about the reality of risk versus the reward of seeing the world while taking some chances. Glad you're recovered. Love the walk through, and the idea is about what one could fix.

Absolutely . It’s all about the attitude. A Biker is very different from just a good rider . It’s a life threatening, life altering choice that should be made consciously so that there are no regrets later . The rewards are incomparable.

Take care buddy.. One question.. To check the bearings in the steering stem undoubtedly u ll have to remove it and then check it. So the removal it self can make the hole bigger. So perhaps i didn't got the proper idea of not changing it frequently. Kindly elaborate.

Yes. You should fix your bike. You should know to fix your own bike, atleast the basics. Otherwise you are not a biker. You are not a person who wants to know or learn about your bike, you will be a person who uses it only for its purpose. Bikes communicate, bikes have bonding with their owners. Only true bikers get that feeling when something is wrong with the bike. I met with an accident in my himalayan, broke my clavicle bone, thanks to the big and heavy crashguard by Zana. Worth every penny. Rest of the dents, bends, paint scrape, breaks, cracks I repaired n sorted out myself. Owner of himalayan BS3. Ride safe, ride hard, live free. 🤟 Motorcycles are an emotion.

Hi Ben. A question about your choice of handlebar and risers. I know you covered it briefly in one of your videos, but I request you provide a bit more information please. Anyone that has dropped this bike knows the handlebars are not up to the task. At best I remember you used the KTM 390 bars but after that it is a bit foggy.
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Joe, yes it is borrowed from a KTM 390 duke 3rd gen ( the perfect sweep for technical riding and also comfortable for long highway stretches). Also i have the aftermarket replicas of the ROX 2" pivot-able risers from amazon.

Get well soon Ben! just a out of curiosity, did you check if the exhaust gasket has become loose after the crash? since the exhaust had an impact, there could also be a possibility that the entire pipe system must have been impacted. So, there could be a gap near the engine outlet and at the same time on the exhaust.
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN 3 жыл бұрын
totally depends on the kind of fall. my gasket is snug and no leaks. All is well.

Hi Ben, thanks for the vid, I hope you're feeling better everyday. I've been having fun and games fitting some Ape Racing 50mm bar risers to my bike... cracked the handle bar clamp while trying to tighten things up. Bugger! Anyhoo, trying to sort a bodge job to keep me going while a new piece comes from Sparezo in your neck of the woods. Take it easy man, cheers.
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN 3 жыл бұрын
the clamps are a universal size and fit . i believe 7/8 th of an inch ( not 100% sure ). just get aftermarket replacements for the same . yes you might not get a single piece design but personally i dont care as long as they are a snug fit and better quality. the stock ones are made of cheese.

Get well soon. Please do take extra care of healing joints. I've had the silliest of falls once and no proper fractures but a minute dislocation of the thumb has significantly affected my other hobby of martial arts as I have not properly recovered my grip strength. If you're looking for casual riding gear, the Royal Enfield Cordura jeans and riding boots are fairly good products to try without having to look like iron man everytime you head out on mini adventures.
