I’ve been following USF since 1991. Mogbo is the best big man I’ve seen there. He didn’t disappear against top competition…..he was facing defenses designed to stop him and still found a way to excel.

Obviously an older, more mature guy than most draftees. He was highly rated, mocked to go around #35 or so. So this wasn't just a "draft Bronny" situation to make Scottie happy. He passes really, really well. Just needs to learn to shoot, and he can be the next Draymond.

They don't play the same position. They don't have the same build. There not close to the same size. There basketball experience is so different. You saw a black guy with an African sounding name and thought Koloko. Typical caucasian Canadian take. Koloko is a thin framed 7ft 1 Center born & raised in Cameroon, late starter to basketball, elite shotblocking big. Mogbo is a 6ft 7, strong wing from Florida, been playing basketball his whole life, grew up playing as a guard & has guard skills. Mogbo was 5ft 9 in highschool and had a late growth spurt going up to 6ft 7. Mogbo is an athletic, point forward with great defensive ability. His playstyle, build is a more athletic Draymond Green. Mogbo & Scottie grew up together. Mogbo growth spurt came late. Scottie was already 6ft 6 when Mogbo was still 5ft 9. With Koloko his potential was scary high. Koloko had great lateral quickness, at 7ft 1 could defend on an island v quick guards and was already an elite shot blocker as a raw rookie. Koloko just needed reps, get stronger. Koloko health scare is why he isn't in the league. Nothing to do with talent.
