Oh David it's not the years it's the mileage. Shoulder surgeries, eye surgeries, achilles snapped, foot and hands broken. Plus he had some wars at cruiserweight. But it's the eye and shoulder - one affects timing the other affects power - the fundamentals of his style. Add to that the fact that before this fight Haye's only boxed 14 rounds in 6 years. He was once amazing. I wish he'd never come back.

Thank you, I wasn’t criticising Haye, you can’t criticise someone for getting old it happens to everyone. It’s the people calling Haye shit because of these performances that I was complaining about, haye was a world class top elite fighter especially in the cruiserweight division, but he’s a shell of his former self now, nothing to criticise it’s just facts. And you can criticise Bellew either because he said all along Haye was past it and finished and a prime Haye would have beaten him.

Great fight! Bellew was clearly scared in the first fight because he didn't know how hard Haye could still hit. But he took those punches in the first fight and that gave him the confidence to trade with him this time. So instead of giving away the first 4/5 rounds and hoping to get him later on in the fight when Haye tired, Bellew knew he could trade from early on. Very patient performance from Bellew as well.He didn't waste all of his energy in 1 round like he did the last time! He knew he would get him - he just had to be patient. And it paid off.

@BigWes956 жыл бұрын
Simon Hobden clearly the time before their last fight. Before this fight haye had fought 13 rounds in about 5 years and nearly half of them were on one leg. He's also older and had 3 major operations in that time. He's clearly way past it. In his prime haye would've destroyed bellew and it wouldn't even be close and you seriously know nothing about boxing if you think otherwise. His speed and timing was so off that he was getting beaten to the punch, was too slow to counterpunch, losing the exchanges and his footwork was too slow all these along with his power were what made him a great fighter and he clearly doesn't have it anymore

Just funny how the odds, bookies, all pundits, analyst's, boxers, all haye fans all talked up haye how he's had best camp in over 10 years with no problems, haye even saying himself he felt better than he has since Enzo maccrinelli, now all the fans are saying he was clearly injured in training, definitely not right. Just swallow some sugar with that bitter pill guys, the better man won. Then the talk about age, there's not 2 years between them. Haye didn't deserve to be in that ring with bellew tonight. And the comments about haye never made am excuse I never said he did. I was talking about bellew had a injury he had to cancel sparring recently due to pains in his rib area (the reason we saw him non contact sparring with light/feather weights). Bellew didn't mention it, and still beat Hayes ass. Haye was still talking bellew shouldn't be in the ring with him, saying he going to knock bellew out then talking sbout fighting aj literally 4 hours ago, saying if it goes past round 4, he's going to retire, he got his ass handed to him but still talking about reviewing it. Bellew was out boxing him making him miss and counter punching exactly like the first fight.

Haye reminds me of kobe bryant. After his achilles injury in 2012 and all that time out, he became pretty bad. On one hand haye got slower cause of age, injuries and overtraining. On the other hand because of his weight; his muscels dont mean shit, if you have bad timing, speed and accuracy. And those years out, didnt help as well i suppose. But it shows again how difficult it is to be on world class level. Even the best have to be top fit to be able to compete

I Wave settle down there mate Kobe throws balls in hoops, that's all the fuckin guy does, nothing "devastating" about it, barely a sport. Haye is a real legend and a real warrior. Not in the same lane as the lanky guy that plays catch, far more deserving of respect.

barely a sport? Really? Its not like they just shooting free throws all game long. Its my favourit sport.

They were both world class athletes. My comparison was about theire decrease of performance after their streak of injuries...

David Haye still goes down as a legend of British boxing, one of the best British heavyweights ever. Just a shame his body doesn't have it in it anymore. Have to say as well I was never Bellew's biggest fan but I've gained a lot of respect for him through all this with the Haye saga. Amazing achievement to beat him twice and thoroughly deserved. Answered any questions from the first fight last night. A true warrior. Will be exciting to see what he does next.
