Wow, simple 2x4 jig, so smart! Mike Morgan's the guy with great tips on how to get things done smarter, not harder. I honestly don't think I would have thought of that. I also don't know that insulation was needed there, but I've never seen a heated floor install. Pushing the shovel is the best tool there I guess, the shale you put there is hard digging for sure. Don't hurt your back my friend, I need another few thousand videos from you! Outdoors With The Morgans is my #1 favorite channel, life without you would be bad. Great video this morning, thank you so much! Dogwoods here in Hickory NC are just beautiful and plentiful! 👍🚜😁

Harbor Freight, gotta love em eh. About eight years ago I purchased a pneumatic Harbor Freight flooring nailer. It was on sale and I used a twenty percent off coupon too making it 99 bucks. After I finished nailing down my flooring in the 20 by 12 room, I sold the nailer on Craigslist for 85 bucks and it went fast too. Just a thought - good luck and thanks for the entertainment and experience. My first comment BTW after watching for nearly two years ...

Mike as handy as you are. Hand digging will give you the best results. Working with my Dad as a cemetery caretaker. He showed me how to use 4' boom shovel. Being right handed hold the shovel flat on the ground. Rest your hands against your legs and lean forward to fill the shovel. Your arms won't get tired. Once you try it, it becomes natural. Enjoy your channel. You're doing a fantastic jib!

Hello Mike- 3”x16” perimeter wall insulation is fine. You need to consider, cutting out 2” in the floor area and install 2” rigid board in the slab. I’ve done a dozen or so houses and works shops like that. One one was done without insulation, the floor hardly gets warm. Rigid foam down, strap tubing on the board and pour 4” inches of concrete. Have plenty of zones, in case of future failure. Good luck. Consider using a outdoor boiler for heater and also install a 150k acoil with blower. It’ll heat it up quick then let the water take over to maintain.
