Some people might not like the arrogance but I think it's understandable. It seems all the top players have it and I actually like hearing it. It makes me laugh. When you're that good, you've earned it. Great games, Hikaru! I'm rooting for you.

@@piotrcthlu Call it arrogance, or confidence, or what have you. Hikaru has it but not excessively. And yes, people are too sensitive these days. That's part of why I like seeing it when it's earned. Even Bobby Fisher, with all his arrogance, was fun to watch.

hilarious: Hikaru not answering the questions at all about what he thought of the Ian vs. Vidit game (he doesn't care), and Hammer's question about light squares (Hikaru refused to get low on time). Non-interview interview. 😂

He probably answered all of these questions before. He spent hours on the game and probably a couple more on the interviews, so of course he is tired of answering questions

@@RossPacino he was clearly tired of interviews, agreed. He's entitled to be. All the press stuff after games must be absolutely hell for every player. So I don't blame him. Hammer totally knew it, too, when he said something like, well I guess you've already done 5 interviews so maybe let's move on, what do you think about your next match with Alireza. Even the interviewers know when too much is way too much, but they have to do their jobs. I think there should be a better balance here for the players' sake.
