lol true but it’s more going by character grade, yes he’s probably bottom 5 but his design is a B grade because he has everything to win. D and C tier characters are usually designed poorly.

She’s relatively new so Hikaru, Word and maybe Broski and Mizukawa are the only ones closest to perfecting her but even then there’s still more to learn, so it’s still hard to tell.

Having a very strong Level 2 Super in this game is AMAZING just because of the rate you build meter. I think that's definitely underrated. Glad you picked up on it for Chun, etc.

@@sawyersimpkins9428 I think something to remember is that they're talking about pro tier. Being consistent with a character is much less of a factor to them. Their opinion on what makes a character "difficult" and what the random average player thinks is difficult is very different. They're concerned with footsies and reactability. We're concerned with how likely we are to drop a combo. They have literally every plus, every minus and every very minus move memorized. And then they know what it is in burn out.

@digitalsmear Cammy is not better than Ken, it doesn't matter how you approach the conversation. You can come at it from whatever angle you want, even ex-spin knuckle in the corner isn't going to change it. Any Cammy player would trade to have what Ken has, no Ken player would trade to have what Cammy has.

Remember to take this tier list with a grain of salt. These guys played agaisnt the best asian players in the world. They play all of their characters at the highest level. Not everything they say applies to the level we are at. For example, everything they said about chun being top tier, nobody is doing that stuff at least in D5.

Tier list are based on the best player playing every character not bronze. Character potential. Its always been like that. As that is lower tier has more freedom as those players are unoptimized in damage and defense. They make mistakes you can capitalize on.

Ken is amazing but look at what's on S tier bro like think individually, is Ken better than X, go 1 by 1 and your answer usually is no or that they tie (for the top 5 for example), if you don't think so you're just not playing against good Chuns, DJs, shit like that. The only one I disagree here is Cammy I think Ken clears her but the rest is either even or they're better cause they get 1 goofy move like sway or chun's stuff.

The only thing that could make me accept that Ken ranking, is that they play at such a high level that maybe we can't see why Ken is not top 3.... but damn... Ken can corner you with one hit... and being in the corner against Ken is like the worst position in this game...

Well they did mention that a big part of it was how often Ken stuff gets perfect parried by the top players in Japan. So one of those cases where tier lists definitely change when you have a certain skill floor that's above most Masters level players.

@@275dprOnly once a year is great because it keeps people from rushing to conclusions and it lets the game mature. Looking at the Masters Matchup Chart they made available, nearly every match is 5/5. The game is so balanced we're counting decimals. I suspect the Legends wouldn't be that close and we still have Guile/JP matchups which are unfair. But NOTHING like Cammy/Sagat in SSF2. Always remember Cammy/Sagat.

That's the problem with Leverless controllers in Street Fighter, leverless gives you advantage especially for DPs with ⬇️⬆️ Inputs (Chun-Li) also we don't know if these players are complying with Capcom SOCD rules because if I'm not mistaken for a ⬇️⬆️ you have to release ⬇️ before pressing ⬆️ but I think some players may be taking advantage of Leverless by not following SOCD rules. With Guile you can literally Hold ⬅️ and press ➡️ for the Booms without the need to release the ⬅️ input this means they're blocking instantly eveytime they Sonic Boom you.

Doubt. It would be stupid for those pros to not complying with capcom SOCD rules. They live off the game so i dont think they wanna risk getting banned in tournament. So yea its almost sure legal. Leverless will always have advantage in SF games, even with movement. At least modern SF games, iirc not much in older SF games with tighter inputs.

Fun fact: Tekken and Street Fighter are my favorite franchises when it comes to fighting. I love them equally for different things. It's like if I had fraternal twin kids. I will never put one down to elevate the other.

All joking aside, this tier list really makes sense within the idea of "highest level of play, long sets". Ken and JP will never stop being the FGC's villains because their floor is ridiculously low. You find one in ranked and they just get to do stuff with minimal training, you _have_ to know their matchup to even reach equal footing. And even though it's ordered, I think the gap between all S characters is incredibly low, except maybe for JP. I also love the exchange at 31:03 "She's very volatile" "We're talking about long sets" "My point still stands" I feel like you have to spend quite a while playing Marisa to understand that, lol. She's good specifically because of her damage. Her biggest tool is striking fear that even at 70% HP you can die if you screw up. Most of her matches are dictated by 1 mistake from either player, once that mistake happens it's like a 7:3 MU in favor of the one who exploited the opening. I love that design, she's fully in the pankratiatist mindset, it's DO or DIE at every single breath. lmao

All I'm hearing as a dee jay main is that fuudo is cracked and based on watching him, he is. I don't understand how he gets away with the stuff that he does. He can do heavy fireball mid-range and the guys don't jump. Meanwhile, my opponents are somehow gods and just do jump-ins at a sight of fireballs.

Balance patch comes after Capcom cup, there is no danger ken is top 3.and I'm a chun main (master rank) and I thought the collective brain of the fgc was broken when some has her as low as 10th best.i knew after a few days she was s-tier, but none believed me.

@@JanKenTribeWorldWideHibiki's defence mitigates Lily's weaknesses quite a lot, He's so patient and doesn't rely on spire to get in. The thing is Lily with windstocks has excellent Oki mid screen and in the corner where she can just loop it until you guess right. She's unstable because her defensive options are poor but her comeback potential is very high. It's just all her best stuff is locked behind windstocks where Ken gets it for free. She can also side switch out the corner with light spire followed by another if she has a stock and be plus after it.

@@DayFul Man Hibiki is phenomenal I don't understand how he does it. He's the 4th fighting game player to make me jealous of a specific aspect of their game. He makes that character look so good and around October I was throwing my controller out of frustration trying to make her work 🤣😂and I usually don't ever get mad at games. She's the type of character where you'll be playing her day in and day out to get her at a high level.

Ryu belongs in A in my opinion he has everything except the crazy corner carry the top tiers have. His buttons are good, he has a side switch and ryu has grown man damage. I bet for a shawarma that he is A Tier

Agreed, and they're usually at their core equipped to deal with my Ken too just based on their playstyle. I find very few bad Ryus versus the bad everything else I run into. They're just ready to tap into Nothing

He's better than the majority of the cast he's just not in the top 3 and has S TIER tools. Plus, he's super easy to use & pick up. People tend to forget sometimes "accessibility" aka ease of use is a big deal in fighting games.

As hyperbole and clickbait as this tier list is. You cant have 2 Ken down players in the room and think this isn't a Biased tierlist lol. The character is top 1-2 and sits with JP and Luke. Stats do not lie. (at the time of this comment, Ken is the #1 qualified character with Luke in 2nd based solely on main characters) Good content though!
