everyones so rude about her accent. she explained everything beautifully, this is FREE education on the internet. take it or leave it.

She problem for me isn't her accent (her voice sounds fine) but that she only describes concepts in words instead of actually showing them out. Sal and the other MCAT guy do a much better job of actually drawing out the processes they discuss instead of just describing them in words (and only writing the words out). I wish she would actually show how the 5' cap, 3' tail, and RNA editing work instead of just describing them in words because that's the whole reason I'm watching a video on the topic

You can also remember that the poly A tail goes on the 3' end if you just think of "AAA" (triple-a),... easy to remember that way :)

This video extensively goes through all the parts of gene transcription accurately AND it even reviews/defines terms along the way! It doesn’t matter her voice, what matters is the information!

I'm currently studying biology in my final year of school and my textbook made me want to cry, but this saved my brain - thank you so much for this video.

This vidoe is based on POST-transcriptional modification not the actual regulation of the processes...

The 5' cap is added before the splicing, not after.

the way my ap bio teacher taught me how to remember the difference between introns and exons is EXons are EXpressed. introns you just gotta remember as the nonexpressed mRNA lol.

how poly A helps in trancription termination
@arham8441
@arham8441 Жыл бұрын
That is poly u tail which helps in transcription termination as the u-a base interactions bw the dna and new synthesized rna are weak and so the rna is liberated

Intron is the one that leave, not the exon!
@esem1367
@esem1367 4 жыл бұрын
alberto tamayo only exons become mRNA, mRNA leaves the nucleus into the cytoplasm, so yes the exons do leave. Perhaps you are thinking introns leave the strand, in that case it is correct.
@mathew707

I think Exons stay and introns are removed :)
@Dainyell23
@Dainyell23 8 жыл бұрын
I think she meant that Exons leave the nucleus as mRNA, while the spliced Introns remain in the nucleus to be degraded
@simplehighlitestv1696
@simplehighlitestv1696 3 жыл бұрын
What she said is correct if you really understand the process exons exit the nucleus to undergo translation after modifications in the nucleus
