This is unbelievable. I was at this conference. I just stumbled on this after listening to Chucks interviews on Joe Rogan and I remembered that he had come to my college, Edinboro. I have very vague memories of meeting him and having him sign a poster. I was hoping maybe I'd see myself in the video. No such luck , but I definitely remember some of the faces which is bizzare in itself. Amazing.

Once he said "I’m not a nihilist. I’m a romantic." Indeed he is.

If he hadn't been a bestselling author he could have been a great stand up.

25:30 My uncle tells me a very similar story....... however in his story he was the kid in the box..... hmmmm......

ZradnaKapusta That's fine. I'm just saying in my uncle's story (real story) he was in a cardboard box crossing a busy road.

whats with the fainting shit? its a "thing"? post-adolescent hyped up grandstanding notwithstanding it is quite interesting... that kid who goes " i was hoping i would pass out" reminds me of the time i was in a Christian Rehab for a year n every time there would be a prayer meeting you could lay odds on certain holier-than-thous hitting the deck n start babbling in tongues ...like a competition...it always rung hollow to me the opposite of any notion of surrender or ecstasy more like "this is what yr supposed to be seen to be doing" i mean guts aint exactly 120 days of sodom or cows ( some real stomach churners in that) so why it would provoke any genuine visceral reaction such as passing out seems ludicrous...maybe they were dehydrated its warm in America innit?

It’s because the story starts telling the reader to hold their breath because that’s how long the story was and some people actually tried holding their breath and passed out.

I was at work one day in college and this student was saying prayers as fast as humanly possible over and over …and I was like “What are you doing?” He explained that he was in a charismatic 4 square church ‘trying to learn to speak in tongues’ I told him “That’s not what speaking in tongues is.”

The fight presentation is homoerotic and embarrassing.
@mauscape57509 жыл бұрын
You can't deny that the homoerotic subtext of the movie and especially of the book is real, though? It's mainly here to serve the narcissism of the main character, it's true, but it's heavily implied
@CosmicGranfalloon9 жыл бұрын
Maureen Att I did say that it (the scene) is homoerotic. Nowhere in the sentence did I state otherwise. Chuck is gay. These are facts and I am not at all surprised. Now, to view the presentation scene as embarrassing or not is left to you. I find it extremely embarrassing.
