Your captain being willing to sacrifice personal glory for the betterment of the team is valuable, but Sonny took it a step further to when he said subbing on his competition (Richarlison) was the right move and to say he was happier for Richie to score than if he did. Now that’s leadership!

Im so happy Richy is getting his flowers. That Celebration at the end nearly brought tears in my eyes. Richy had such a tough year or so and him admitting he needs help. For him to do that and Sonny pushing him to the forefront. Incredible scenes

Last season after Conte was sacked I said. All Spurs need is to bring in a manger who doesn't think he is bigger then the club. He will work with the players and play a system that will suite the players he has. He wont moan about the players he doesn't have and install faith into the one he has. This is what Ange has done this. Always said the Manager makes the team.

We might not be in Europe, but we are in Angeland! I was there, what a game. Nobody on Spurs side gave up, not the players, the fans, coaching staff, anyone. We weren't firing on every cylinder but that was due to SU's shameful time wasting interupting our fluidity. Irony and Karma. So pleased for Richy but the biggest moment for me was Ange's decisions on the subs, when and who. Masterful.

This game was brilliant. SU did everything to Spurs to test the players. They slowed everything down. Sat in a low block. Yet Spurs found away to win. The Ange motto -We keep going-. The reason why the players celebrated how they did was due to letting go of all the frustration that they kept pent up. Spurs kept playing the same way. This game really showed the players have taken in Ange's system fully. Also the way Ange celebrate is very good. He doesn't jump up and make it all about him. He keeps calm keeps grounded and then celebrates after.

What impressed me most with Ange yesterday was actually after we were 2-1 up. Biss/Maddi was sitting on the ground (time wasting), and I laughed when it happened. But then you see Ange waving his arms telling his guys to stand up. If that’s not true to his ethos that we don’t stop until final whistle, I don’t know what is. I bet 99% of all other managers would go, sit down for a few more minutes

Having watched football and Spurs for sixty years I can say that it is moments, rather than whole matches, that live in the memory years later. Hoddle's astonishing goals; Ricky's Villa's spectacular long shot in the '81 Cup semi-final at Highbury; his mazy run in the final...Gazza's free kick vs the Gooners in 1991's Wembley semi final; Dele's incredible goal vs Palace; the unbelievable final seconds to the both the City and Ajax away ties in the CL run. All these and many more. And now this. A minor fixture against unremarkable opposition, but no team has ever come back from a losing position to win so late in a Premier League match.

Given that HK was demanding the opportunity to win something in a Spurs shirt (in order to stay), I think the answer to your question must be yes. And thinking back over the years, HK did have several opportunities to win something with us, but always seemed to be a pale shadow of himself in those key matches (maybe carrying the burden and heavily marked by the opposition).

Shout it from the rooftops but something amazing is happening at Spurs. I thought it would have been impossible to transform a club so quickly but it’s happening before our eyes. At the end of Poch’s first year I thought (wrongly) ‘This is another false dawn, the players just don’t get it.’ But under Ange you can see, they do get it and are buying into it completely at an early stage. The team of the early 80s was born out of a relegation, and confidence built on success against lesser opposition in the Second division, plus some astute transfer business. What is happening under Ange is different, and is in its infancy but it is even more remarkable. I have never heard a manager speak in the way he does. He is a breath of fresh air blowing away all the negativity and staleness that infested the club. If we give him time and backing, the sky is the limit. Anything is possible, look at Leicester. He could just be our Fergie, Wenger or Pep. As fans we need to back him 100% when there are bumps, and there will be. But I have never been so optimistic in all my time supporting our great club.

IMO the best part of enjoying football is not with the finished article (squad) and the trophies it may get; it's the "building" stage, when fans discover what their players - individually and as a team - are made of. Some that were almost written off, given new roles and new lease of life. Some new, unknown and underrated, taking the "feel" of the club's values, adding new dynamics and dimensions to the play, without baggage or fear. The trophies are the cherry on top, the cake is seeing new players come together and make a team stronger, more versatile, adding layers and flavours to a football philosophy that all fans, even those from other clubs, understand and appreciate. Ange Postecoglou was the missing link to Spurs fans, his belief to how football must be played, regardless of results - enjoy the journey, THFC supporters.

The word mate in Australia can mean so many different things. The tone, the inflection, the way it is used in a sentence all change the meaning. I guess you are learning that. 😂 On another note i guess Spurs have picked up a lot of Aussie followers. I myself am a Villa fan but am keeping a close eye on Tottenham . Even our local broadcaster, Optus, is running ads saying its ok to have Spurs as your second team.

55:20 there are a couple of ways you can look at the journey to success and it’s like going on a car journey to a wonderful destination. You can sit in the back seat asking “Are we there yet? Are we there yet? How far is it?” And it will feel like it takes ages and it’s boring. Or, you can enjoy the scenery and play games and have fun on the way. I think Ange is allowing us to choose the second option 😊

As always, you provide the best reporting and analysis on all things Tottenham Hotspur! So glad football is alive again-after its temporary death during the international break, couldn't agree with you more on that-and what a way to roar back to life! I love this team already, and they are showing what team sport is all about. I hope aspiring footballers are watching.

There is a legendary feel to this, destiny if you like. The late win, the Richie plot twist, it's as though I remember the future and it will be epic.

Thanks Alasdair for your great video. Game finished around 2.20am in Eastern States of Australia, but it was worth it. So happy for Richarlison. The end was crazy , really thought it was going to be one of those matches. But the Spurs under Ange will not give up. Arsenal are ot playing great so NLD is ours for the taking. This season is going to be phenomenal.

Hi Ali, this win shows we have different ways of winning, we did not just lump the ball up and hope for the best, we kept playing as a team. I was so happy for Richy he deserves all the plaudits he is getting.

Great video Ali, such a joy to be a fan right now. I think this is the most optimistic I can remember being approaching the NLD at the Emirates in a long time and that’s a result of all that has gone on over the last few weeks. Genuine belief is in the air and I’m breathing it all in while it’s here!

Ali, thanks for pointing out the video of Veliz picking apart the stadium, the guy is fully COYS already. 😄 That SU game had echoes of the Leicester one, happy that Maddison got to experience the other side this time. And I'm sooooooo happy for Richy and Deki. It's kinda mind-blowing what Ange has already did with this team.

Havent watched it all yet Ali, but I think it is extremely important to say about Romero. In a 12 yellow card game (i think), guess who didn't get one. If you want to see someone who has really taken to this new tottenham era and their responsibilities, its Romero. He is a completely different player and im loving it. Big up Ali and COYS

Romero was prob man of the match yesterday was epic - Ritchie will rightly win the fan vote but cuti was epic and clip on tv of hojberg coming on and telling cuti it’s a back 3 and cuti immediately getting destiny and Emerson to line up how he wants them epic

@@eriklakeland3857 yeah and how a back 3 should be like El Tel played with with our and out wingers and full backs either side of one defender so full on attack - def beat champs league game where brought on a more defensive player when needed to score

Hi Alasdair I cheered so hard at the first goal and even more when it was Richy! Since the year I was born (1994) I’ve been a Tottenham fan obvs my grandad from there but it feels so good to feel this way. Ange is it I believe it. I guess that’s football at the end. Hope we can go batter the Arsenal lot. Couldn’t be more proud of all of them. We’ve got the best away shirt in years. In my opinion one of the best managers in world football it’s looking bright! WE ARE TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FAMILY! Stay healthy and safe Mr Gold!
