Still up at 4am here in Britain and loving the immediate reaction - I normally wait for the audio podcast in the morning. What a night for Boston sports! Red Sox win 17-0, Bruins go up 3-1 against the Leafs & the C’s make a point to the Heat - everything worked well, real Celtic basketball, 9 scorers, moving the ball quick, good spacing, hitting our threes, defending every ball not just 25% like in Game 2. Keep it up! #howdoyoulikemeknow

Marshalls is New England's version of Ross. Probably owned by the same company as the signs have the same font. Or maybe that font just screams "discount clothing." It's where I get my shirts!

Heat was mauling KP this game. I hope hes ok. KP did redeem himself a bit this game but he still needs to be better. Be more physical and to stop relaxing on close outs. Jrue getting old in front of our eyes. Miami was attacking him every chance they got. They were hunting kp and jrue primarily. Jrues extension is going to be a bad contract very soon. I liked the defense in the 1st but they relaxed a bit in the 2nd half. Need to push that further so the starters can rest and the bench can play. We're better when we're scoring this way with multiple double digit scorers. We're better when everyone eats, not when jt/jb score 20+. The best version of the Js are more balanced: some scoring, some passing, lots of rebounds and lots of defense. Then we get close to 20 from kp and white. Plus throw in close to 10 from jrue, al, sam and pp.

Dude did you watch the game lmaoooo that’s the worst take I’ve ever heard jrue was blocking shots all game and taking on there outside shooters ??? Talking about wanting to see the bench in more durring a playoff game have you ever watched playoff basketball 20 minutes from Payton P is crazyyyy??
@TheRobversion1
@TheRobversion1 Ай бұрын
@@1smhx5 lets address both points. 1. did you watch the game and paid attention to the points i was making? i wasnt talking about blocked shots. watch the game again and watch how he navigated the screens. count how many lazy closeouts. then compare to milwaukee jrue. you do realize that blocking shots is a minor component of actually playing good defense? did you also not see game 2? 2. so you dont like big blowouts because playing PP more than 20 mins in the playoffs is too much? Very weird for a celtic fan. Most celtics fans i know would rather we blow out miami by 30+ every game (and thus the bench would play more). the intent here is wanting to see the heat get buried. the bench playing and the starters not being at risk of "heat culture" is a happy by-product. EDIT: i just realized didnt specify in the original comment why i thought Jrue was getting old but i posted it elsewhere. my bad. the "extended" post included reasoning such as Jrue struggling navigating through screens, being a step behind on close outs, not having the same arm strength to rip the ball away ala Smart, etc. and yes, i was comparing this to the Jrue we faced in the playoffs before so i was noticing the drop-off.

Jrue played great defense though. He was right up on his guy in a milli second if you watch him. He knows his role well actually. He doesn't need points but he can get them almost at will still

@@qvalue9982 i did watch. You and i must just be looking at different possessions. What sticks out to me are the misses and what sticks out to you are the makes. Watch all the possessions he guarded Herro in the 3Q. those were the egregious ones. By no means, i'm not saying he was bad defensively this game. He was bad defensively game 2. This game he was good but not to the elite, all-def milwaukee Jrue i've come to expect. Hence my assessment that he could be getting old (or still suffering from that shoulder injury). The expectation here (as Jrue has shown us multiple times early in the regular season) is hes elite defensively 90% of the time. Game 2 he was a defensive liability. This game he was good 60-70% of the time. A 20% drop off is significant, hence, the thinking he has lost a step (or something is bothering him). Yes he doesnt need to be a big time scorer but he has to be a threat. The celtic offense is elite because everyone is a threat to score double figures. IMO expecting jrue to score 9-12 a game isnt too high of an expectation.
