Back when children’s shows had a relaxing pace. Nowadays, companies seem to think kids have the attention span of goldfish and need constant noise and movement.

A postman: Something a child can identify with, and someone they will see most days of their lives. I think that has contributed to Postman Pat's success.

Funny you should say that, I remember having a toy Postman Pat truck at 2 and 3 quarters years old, I brought it at the post office with my pocket money.

This, Star hill ponies, The Trumpton triology; Joshua Jones, animals of farthing wood, Noah's island and Fireman Sam were the only normal programmes on at that time, other programmes were strange and written by people on drugs.

it's because these are all the songs from the 1981 series and a really proper sound didn't come until postman pat and the tuba from 1994

I used to love postman pat when I was little. But I can't stand the modern one I only liked the old version from 1981 and the one from 1996 and one from 2004. I hope you see my point. I think the BBC should bring this one back to CBeebies. Thank you so much.

@@johnjtm1097 The recordings on this sound slightly different to the cassette tape we used to listen to many times in the late 80s and early 90s. Same singer but different recording. Slightly more formal singing on the cassette we had I think.
