Three important reasons for postmenopausal bleeding// Postmenopausal bleeding is any kind of bleeding after menopause. While it is common, it can be concerning for postmenopausal women. In this video, I discuss three common and important reasons that women experience bleeding after menopause. I also discuss the common imaging tests and procedures that are often recommended for postmenopausal bleeding.

I am 67 and had a bleeding uterine polyp removed 2 months ago. I am still spotting and cramping...not a alot or all the time but enough I have to wear a pad sometimes. My doctor did a biopsy when she removed the polyp and it was negative. She is sending me for a uterine ultrasound. Any ideas on why this could be happening?

It is so annoying and frustrating. I kept "Pads" just in case. Very smart move. Could it be due to stress? The First Two Days are H#ll 😢.

I found you a few months ago and have been loving your podcasts and videos. I’m 52 using the ClimaPro patch. From your video it sounds like it might be “normal” to spot starting on day 7, the day I replace the patch, and continue for a couple of days. I’ve had the endometrial biopsy and it was fine. In any case I totally appreciate your mission to share your knowledge!!!!

I had bleeding post menopause. Had an ultrasound and then an endometrial biopsy done - very painful, demand the sedative. They told me that because I had kids it wouldn't hurt. Not true! Neither test showed an issue. The doctor then looked at the supplements I was taking and saw that one OTC one to minimize hot flashes contained soy. I stopped taking it and the bleeding stopped. Wish she had done that before the biopsy.

I also had Post Menopause bleeding & a Biopsy. It was NOT like a Pap test! They have been doing this "Surgical procedure" the same way for at least 40 yrs with no sedative NOTHING. When I complained to the doctor she told me, " if more women complained to the hospital " they would have changed the procedure. So I did complain to the hospital. I hope more women speak up when they are not happy with the Pain inflicted during any type of test. Nothing ever changes until we speak up!

I have been having a period since covid 19 pandemic. I never got the vaccines for personal reasons. Never had covid either as far as I know. But ever since the beginning of the pandemic I have been bleeding like a period. Sometimes it skips a month. But I haven't had a period in over 15 years. I've had ultrasounds, a CAT scan, a biopsy. No one can figure out why I am bleeding again.

My doctor wasn’t interested in the fact that I have a history of PMDD. Nor was he interested in the fact that I got my period one week after each vaccine, after over a year of not having had it. And this came complete with mood swings. And then a year after that it came back again. I couldn’t get any doctors to see me at the time last year because of lockdown, so I’m now being told that I have all of these lumps in my uterus, which now need to be biopsied. I can actually feel these things. Plus my moods are swinging out of control. I’m trying to find another doctor who will actually show some concern or interest regarding the massive hormonal issues I tried to bring up, but it seems that all of the highly recommended doctors are all booked until October

Thank you so much for this clear explanation. May I suggest a 4th reason (or maybe it’s a subset)?? I am 12 years after menopause and experienced that “I’m getting my period” sensation, then spotting one week after my first Pfizer vaccine for SARS-Cov-2. Four weeks later, the same thing happened. My second shot was 9 weeks after my first and the spotting returned, but randomly spaced (about 10 instances) and gradually is lightening up after 4 months. I had two ultrasounds (lining 4mm) and a biopsy. Everything normal. The specialist said it was stress.(without knowing me or my lifestyle at all). I think my uterine lining, as part of the immune system, was activated by the vaccine somehow. I believe that means I had a healthy immune response.

Hi how are you? My mother had the same situation after the 1st dose of Moderna vaccine for Cov19 after 2 weeks. He had severe bleeding. She is already 53 years old, her last period is 5 years ago.

Thank you for saying aloud, something I was going to pose to the doctor when I see her on Tuesday. I was fairly willingly fully vaccinated with Moderna, however, no one in the medical community should dare to dispute 'our' findings and thoughts. I have had another 'weird' side-effect that no one will believe. I can hardly believe it myself, yet it is. I don't ever remember my body doing any such thing. We'll never know exactly what is in all of those vaccines, and that each of us responds to foreign substances within our own body uniquely. I've also most recently been tested for TB, so the disc and reading of, and had 1 shot of what will be a series of 3 shots for Hep B, for employment purposes only. I am taking all of this into consideration. I have been bleeding for 2 weeks now, but it was only bleeding upon wiping. It went away, or sso I thought and came back bigger and better, three nights ago. I'm concerned as my last menstruation was 2004/2005-ish. I've always been very sensitive in general. Who knows? God help us all. I don't know how much more I can take. Looking forward to the doctor's visit. I pray I will be okay. I hope you are as well.

@@angelogarcia7019 i’m sorry I missed your message! The bleeding took quite a while to taper off after my second dose. The spacing of the bleeding was erratic, unlike after my first dose, which was every four weeks. However, I got fully checked out for cancer and came out negative. I haven’t spotted since about 11 weeks after dose #2. My booster, which was Moderna, threw me for a loop in terms of fever, but no spotting. All the best and I hope we get to the bottom of this mystery one day.
@NanasWorms
@NanasWorms 2 жыл бұрын
@@allkindsamusicchick Thank you for your kind words. Yes, I am doing well and have no more strange side effects. When I was getting my booster, I told the nurse my experiences with my first two doses and she immediately said “have you been checked out for cancer?“ So, I was so thankful my doctor took quick action and I was thoroughly checked. I do hope you are getting good care and feeling well.

It is uncomfortable for sure. They had to dilate my Uterus in the office and I didn’t get any kind of sedation and it was not fun at all. They made it sound like you would barely feel anything and that certainly wasn’t the case with me.

Monocaofamilyyoutube67 I have this also, bleeding after menopause. I’m 70 and have had this especially during stressful times in my life. I have had a full light period for 8 months when I was 61. That was nearly 10 years ago. Never went to Dr. Didn’t have the exorbitant money needed to visit GYN. Also sometimes happens after a lot exercise on my stationary bike. Don’t get a full flow just pale light pink when wiped. I’m scared to go to Dr although I need to. Do you have cramping as well? Does it feel hormonal like you are getting your period? That’s what I am goring through now. It’s ending…lasted 4 days. My sympathies and condolences to you and your family for your losses of family ❤🙏

I am 59 and started bio identical hormones (E2/Test 0.375/0 mg mini troche in AM, 100mg progesterone in PM) this past May. After 6 months of bleeding, spotting, not sleeping and cramps that I thought was normal I went back in for blood work and apparently my numbers were 20x more than they should have been. And I was on a low, very conservative dose. I told my doctor I wanted to just get off of them for a couple weeks and reevaluate. She said she can try just an estrogen patch or maybe just treat my thyroid.(TSH=3.99) Any thoughts Doctor Hirsch? Should I have an ultrasound? Maybe hormones aren’t for me and I should treat my thyroid?

The bleeding is back it's quite heavy and my gynecologist is recommending a hysterectomy. I've always had an imbalance having unwanted facial and body hair. I'm 50 and haven't had a period in 14 months. I started bleeding yesterday. I am scheduled to see the gynecologist at the end of March. Do I really need to tell him that this happened for him to see if there's something wrong or will he be able to tell if atrophy or something is happening? By telling him, it will change my appointment from a free exam to a diagnostic exam. I already have so many other medical bills that I can't afford for this to be a diagnostic exam.

Hi, I’m 43 years old and have been perimenopausal since I was 38. My mom went into menopause at 42. I had 2 ultrasounds done at the end of March showing small fibroids and a thin lining. At that time my last period had been in October. I went back in early July to have my hormones checked then the doctor called saying my hormones were close to the ‘normal’ range for someone not in menopause and asked if I wanted to have a biopsy done. It’s scheduled for the end of August HOWEVER I got my period last week. The first time in 10 months. Was that an actual period? It looked like all the ones in the past, light the first day, then heavy for 3 then tapering off for about 2 days. Do I still need a biopsy? Does this mean I get to restart the clock to menopause? 🤞

A-ha. I have been having irregular bleeding. Estradiol patch 0.075 and 100mg progesterone- doctor upped progesterone to 200 mg and the bleeding lessened, but has not completely stopped. I do have a uterine polyp and am having my levels drawn again this week in addition to a follow up ultrasound in October. I’m very small-wondering if Estradiol patch level could be too high? Hmmm

I had my last period about 4 years ago. I have taken internal harmony cream with progesterone and estriol through the years that has helped me. Yet, recently they have been out of it so I got 2 seperate creams progesterone and estrogen which I have used only a little estrogen and more progesterone. So, do you say that I should not use any estrogen?

I'm scheduled for ultrasound . But reading the comments im afraid of the pain that maybe involved. I've never had babies and hearing my cervix has to be dilated and a potential biopsy.. really concerns me.

I started spotting and I am post menopausal. Nothing for over a year. I am getting more tests done. I hear this is common and others say impossible. I KNOW I had nothing for over a year and then less than 1 day after vaccine I spotted for 10 days. Getting better now. I am so frustrated that no one will say if this is possible? We are dismissed like we don't know our own bodies. Can you give me your opinion? I am still for the shot and not criticizing it - I just think women need to KNOW that this is possible. I am still getting additional tests done but have to wait 2 weeks. If you could give us any advice - that would be great. My lining was 5.3 on the sonogram but that was 2 days after the shot and they say no diagnostic testing till after 4 weeks after vaccine. I have yet to get a fsh test completed and a biopsy. Thank you so much.

Hi, I’m hoping for an opinion. I’m 63 years old. Haven’t had a period for about 12 years. About 2 years ago I had some bleeding. I was sent to the gynaecologist (after having a normal pelvic scan), who did a hysteroscopy D & C. The lining was very thin and showed nothing. I had a couple more incidents of bleeding and was told it may be atrophy. I have a prolapse but no incontinence. A few months ago I had another incident where it was dripping out of me on the bathroom floor. Back for another pelvic ultrasound and examination which was normal. This morning I went to the bathroom and had bright red blood dripping out quite a bit. It stopped in a few minutes. I will see my doctor again tomorrow. No one seems to have a clear answer for me. I have just been on antibiotics for a cough and cold and have got thrush which I’ve been administering canestan cream. Can this cause bleeding?

I have what may seem to be a silly question. I'm 54 and until recently, my last period was about 18 months ago; however, over the past two months, I started having periods again. Last month it was relatively normal but lasted for about 10 days. This month, my period started about 7 days ago. It's very heavy, there's cramping that feels like someone is pulling my insides out and I'm passing a lot of clots. I also have a history of fibroids. At my last pap smear in May, the doctor said everything was ok. is there a chance this could be nothing and will end on its own?
