I'm having elbow surgery in 2 days for a torn tendon. Doctor said it will be outpatient surgery that will take about 25 minutes. I'm scared.....

@johnski4709 Hey, it's been six months since you made this comment. How are you now mate? Was the surgery scary? How long did it take your elbow to heal?

@dasie18 surgery went fine. One moment you are in the bed with wheels, the next you wake up in same bed in recovery. Elbow was slightly sore but they gave good pain meds.

Had it wrapped for about a week and had an arm sling. Elbow is fine now but does get slightly sore during prolonged weight carrying. Just needs to get stronger.

Great video, described what I’m going through perfectly. Just a question: with physio, when will I be back to the gym?

I’ve been going to physio therapy for a month now, 3 times a week. Still pretty rigid but if could move it for 10 degrees, now I can move it 95 degrees. Slowly but surely, we’ll get back to normal

@@dylanryan5947Hey, you got full range of motion now? I have 10-13 deg range of motion and have been closing in on 2 months since surgery. I feel like I have got stagnant now not sure how to speed up the process or if it takes more time. Also how often you do exercise?

I just had my open surgery, week of Thanksgiving, ten days now, to repair/re-attach the LE and also radial nerve release. I think I have more nerve compression, but that is all for now. I left surgery with a bandage. Free to use as pain allowed, no weight. Have had very little pain only doing Advil (four at a time twice a day). I can work at the computer, open water bottle, but the top of a spray can hurt a lot. No PT. I see him at two weeks, but post-op he said the repair is strong and PT will be to use my arm at will as pain allows. He said not to do any PT-like exercises until the repair is healed at six weeks, just use the arrm freely using pain as a guide. He expects at 2 months I can do normal stuff. My discomfort is low. But I am hesitant to feel confident as having TE for years, I know a little thing is a big thing in the next moment and last weeks. But at least with a repair, re-attach to the bone, I can try to push it more at six weeks if nothing else to tear up any myofacia or scar tissue. The healing for any soft tissue takes six weeks, maybe 8 if you are not confident. After that, I think discomfort (not sharp) is good to tear up any bad build-up. Listening to this Dr, matches what my doctor has stated, so went for it.

@@sharathravi4771 Hey man, sorry only read the reply now. I have good news for you: In extending, I have full ROM but closing it, I'm 90% there after a year from surgery. Have gone back to bodyweight exercises after 9 months from surgery and going strong. What I'd recommend is ALWAYS warm up before exercising (full of full body warmups on KZfaq) and you should be ok. Hopefully you're doing well
