Great Video Walt!!!!

I want to add two important details about Yu's radio for anyone interested in buying it: 1) Yu has given great/speedy customer service via email and his private FB group; he provides updates on patches and videos on how things are progressing. 2) The only issues that now remain are software related; a majority have already been taken care of; to avoid becoming stuck offering customers perpetual patches like Xiegu, Yu is considering making his code open source this year!

Ha, I've watched your videos for a bit now and I didn't know that was you that I was hunting. That was an incredible pile up last night. I almost gave up (I was heard around the 33 min mark). I was using a Kenwood TS-570s at 40 watts on a packtenna efhw antenna. It was great hearing from you, KG5BMX, 73.

What a great little radio that FX-4CR Is, To pro long that mfj 1979 spray it with WD40 from time to time to prevent the salt getting into it.

The 17' whip is the single handiest and easiest to deploy antenna I have. Mobile mirror mount attached to a long nail, stick it in the ground, throw out a few radials and your done. I work 40m when paired with the SlideWinder.

First Landing is a great spot! Worked a project next door at Ft Story a few years back. Appreciate your channel!

I've had the Wolf River Coil 213" telescoping whip for about a year. It's easily one of my favorite antennas--as long as it's not too windy, LOL. I do notice that the lengths for resonance differ when I use it on a mag mount vs. aground rod and mirror mount with radials.

Great activation. I saw when you were spotted but I didn't have the opportunity to get on the air. Sounds like I'd have been in the skip zone anyway. I did my first activation last weekend at a local park and 20 was ridiculously good while everything else was just dead. I don't do nearly enough 20 meters lol.

Pretty cool activation, makes me wanna go out there again ;) What a cool rig tho, I was looking at the CW specific radios, and this is slightly bigger and does a lot more. I was checking, I don't think there's a CW decoder on that one is there?

Great video Walt. If you felt overwhelmed dealing with that pile up it didn't show. I thought you handled it great! It gets easier the more that you do & I would say that it doesn't really phase me now. Shame POTA doesn't drum up that much activity here in the UK. Having said that, post a spot on SOTA or WWFF & you often get a nice pile up to keep you busy for a while. I think the most chaotic WWFF pile up I ever had went on for slightly over an hour & the final count was something in the region of 110 stations.....I was fairly broken by the end of that! Keep up the good work.

Hi Walt, I've got the same telescopic whipp as you and I mount it the same way as well work's really well, try your slide winder loading coil with it should give you 60 and 40 meters I also use a common mode choke at the antenna end of the feeder, cheers Walt, Adam G7CRQ

Wow, great little radio ! The smallest radio I have is a G-90. I got on 20 this mourning and was not picking up any POTA from the right coast (from Idaho). Looks like the band was short (and crappy) today. Band not the best, but you made a lot of contacts ! The specs on the advertisements say it's a 10 watt radio. You said you are pushing 20 watts. Has there been an upgrade or did you just misspeak ? Always enjoy your videos Walt. 73. P.S. I'm still waiting for my cup of DB's (seawater)

i love the 17 feet whips, and with a river coil y must simple work 40 meter band! i use jpc7 whit 17feet is my best setup! th counterpoise is on the beach or in the sea?

I was reading about the issue this rig has with the sound card. I was just about to order my own rig until I found out about this problem. Does anyone know if it's corrected or is anyone haveing difficulty getting help for this problem. Thank you!

Hi Walt: How was the FX-4CR during the half hour POTA from a heat dissipation standpoint? Did it get really hot? Did it cut back power? Have you tried it on digital yet?
