Potato Gola Kabab Recipe
Potato Gola Kabab is a delicious vegetarian fritter made with mashed potatoes and spices. Here's a recipe to try:
Ingredients:
4-5 boiled and mashed potatoes
2 tbsp grated vegetables (cabbage, carrot, capsicum - optional)
2 tbsp finely chopped onion
2-3 chopped green chillies (adjust to your spice preference)
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
Salt to taste
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp roasted cumin powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
Oil for frying
3 tbsp bread crumbs (or crushed cornflakes)
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine mashed potatoes, grated vegetables (if using), chopped onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, and all the dry spices (salt, red chili powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder). Mix well until everything is evenly incorporated.
Add bread crumbs or crushed cornflakes to the mixture and combine thoroughly. This will help bind the mixture and create a crispy texture.
Grease your hands with a little oil. Take a portion of the mixture and shape it into a ball. Then, using your thumb or a skewer, gently create a hole in the center to form a doughnut shape.
Heat oil in a pan or skillet over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the kababs and fry until golden brown on all sides.
Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Tips:
You can roast the besan (gram flour) and maida (refined flour) for a few minutes before adding them to the mixture for an extra nutty flavor (optional step).
Feel free to adjust the amount of spices according to your taste preference.
For a richer flavor, you can add grated cheese or chopped cashews to the mixture.
