Potato salad is one of my favorite comfort food. The recipe my family does is to put in a bit of fruit bits to balance the flavors. Small chunks of apples for some crunch, or instead of that we also sometimes use pineapples or raisins!

That brought some fond memories. In the USA we have many different recipes depending on each family. Ours did not use vinegar, ham or cucumbers but celery and smaller onion pieces. It was served in the summertime at picnics and barbeques making a great substitute for potato chips. Very nice.

My grandma used to do this dish when I was young. Memories...

In Czech Republic it's just the same with potato salad. We eat it for Christmas with schnitzel or carp and it's become traditional food, I dare say. Although we eat it during the year as well haha, and I don't think there's a person who didn't have potato salad in their life in my country. We don't mash the potatoes, but we cut them in squares as you said during the video and we use the onion, cucumber (usually pickled though, but the fresh one is great idea!), boiled eggs and boiled carrot. All that cut in squares as well. Mayonnaise, mustard, salt and pepper. Some people add peas (the little balls lol) and celery too. It's amazing how the cultures are so similar and I find every week, thanks to your videos, how some of the recipes are SO similar to our dishes as well. For example the Napolitan spaghetti is something I think of as my childhood food too! Thank you very much, Moe!
