Then why does PotC wiki say she was a Fluyt? A Dutch style tradeship? Vasa was a 64 gun ship of the line, the Flying Dutchman was a 38 gun ship, more in line with being a Fluyt. Huge difference in hull strength between a ship of the line and a trading vessel. And what made the Fluyts so special is that they were dedicated cargo vessels as opposed to the mixed purpose galleons.

(1152 total), equivalent to the Dutchman's 20x36 + 18x24 lbs. (1152 total). Vasa has more guns, but the Dutchman has bigger guns. Compare to 3rd rate Temeraire, with guns decks totalling 1458 lbs. of cannons.

Even tank-mounted flame throwers in WW2 could only achieve a max range of a few dozen meters, meaning the Queen Anne would have to get up close to the Dutchman in order to use her flame throwers. And if talking about just the forward facing weapons, the Dutchman could put range and outgun a pair of flame throwers. This is of course glossing over the full array of the Dutchman’s broadside guns and the ship’s ability to evade by diving beneath the waves. It is also stated that the Dutchman is only bested in speed by the Black Pearl so Jones gets the upper hand in both speed and maneuverability. And then of course, Blackbeard and the Queen Anne are mortal; of ordinary humans that can be killed off. Blackbeard himself was already dying to begin with. While Jones and the Dutchman are supernatural. The ship is cursed as well as it’s captain and crew, tasked by the goddess Calypso to ferry souls to the next world. While Jones is not invincible, there is essentially only one way to kill him. And the Dutchman will sail even in his absence because the ship has a task. How interpret it is, the Dutchman is essentially judge, jury, and executioner, the end-all-say-all. Can’t be sunk. This is my opinion and speculation though.

There's not a moment where you can see him enjoying their suffering. Calypso betrayed him as well, she wasn't physically there when he waited for her to show up on land where he can go once every ten years and she also looked kinda sorry when she could answer nothing but "it's in my nature".

The only movies where the pirates are the villains are the 1st and the 4th one (The Curse of the Black Pearl is my second favorite film because of the classical moments of piracy, including raids on Port Royal and the commandeered Interceptor, which was destroyed by the pirate crew of Captain Barbossa which represent the pirates of the old times.) (On Stranger Tides is my fourth favorite movie because it shows the most famous historical pirate Blackbeard, which legend is that his body climped three times over his ship before coming back and now he commands the infamous historical pirate ship the Queen Anne's Revenge. The movie also shows the historical kings of England and Spain and the fight between the British, the Spanish and the pirates. That is what I wanted to see in Pirates of the Caribbean.)

Nevertheless the pirates are the infamous adventurers of the seven seas.

The difference now is that beckett has control over Jones and had specifficly send him to destroy pirate ships. So to awnser your question quickly, no Jones was not an ally to the pirates

He was commanded by beckett to kill some and capture the survivors, but Jones is a loose cannon
