The DJI Mini 2 SE and FIMI X8 Mini V2 are preferable choices over the Potensic Atom SE.

Wtf no... They all have gimbals. The whole point of the atomic SE is NOT having a gimbal. Why should I buy a DJI or fimi then??? Your comment doesn't even make sense

Hi there. I was wondering where in New England you are ? I am in West Warwick R.I. I have a p4p and have droning for like 6 years now. This video looks like familiar territory I just cant' quite place it. Thank you for the analysis of the Atom. I was wondering for the price if it would be worth it. It sounds pretty good for that price.

I just bought a dji mini 2 for a $100 more but I could see why someone would grab one of these to learn with, then move on, I’m also a newbie but I needed my camera to be reliable for high quality work. Otherwise I’d get this to learn on

I just bought one and it didn’t come with the Velcro strap to hold the blades in place. I didn’t use anything at first but the blades began catching on the fabric of the case when I would pull it out. I started using a rubber band. Not perfect but it works. Are they not including the strap now?

Just got one. Sold me was the controller and how it hooks up with the phone. First Drone and will get a DJI once I get good. 250 on Amazon with two batteries. Tried a Bwine 7 and it sucked with my phone.

I'd have liked to know how you're moving the camera around. I just got the drone and took it on a test flight and it wasn't super clear how to change the camera angle once it's up in the sky. Otherwise, great review and info, thank you!!!

no you do not. i use and old phone that doesnt have a data plan setup or wifi and it works just fine.

Potensic make nice enough drones. However if you could buy this combo package for under $200 it would be a great starter drone. Where i am the price is over $300 and for a little more you can buy a DJI Mini 2SE. Simply no contest by comparison.

Yeah i mean this one claims 4k @ 30 where the SE is 2.7 BUT you get the reliability and build quality of DJI not to mention the flying software……. I agree with you scooter!

it sets the home point when you take off. the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner of the app gives you the settings to set you height for the return to home flight

I have now tested my drone and i must say I'm very disappointed. First of all the drone is losing GPS satellites in mid air that resulted in a crash and damaged the propellers. I contacted potensic and provided my flight log they analyzed. They confirm that all sudden the signal is lost and the drone starts to circle around very fast in the air uncontrolled which can result in crash if you flying low and near building. They cant say why my drone is loosing GPS satellites and they offer me a new drone with 1 battery (since i bought the combo kit that includes 2 batteries) and 30 euro for shipping. BUT when i bought it the shipping was 10 euro, so they don't seem very helpful when charging me 3 times the shipping fee from beginning. its not my fault the drone is broken . Also i don't think its real 4K camera since the quality is very low. i would say 720P max on low heights and 480 when you are but up in the air. Before buying atom i was planing on buying DJI mini2 and now i regret i didn't go with that instead since this problem with atom. be careful with your drones. When it lose connection to satallites it can get really ugly! I also did they calibration before every flight and it still losing GPS so i just want to give heads up to everyone.

Even the DJI Mini 2 SE feels like a flying iPhone. Potensic Atom SE can be a great toy to have fun with. But the camera quality and lack of the gimbal is bad.
