The only reason LEGO reuses faces from certain themes I think can't make accurate actress/actor face print because there just lazy to make unique face print for their counterparts. And they want to make sets for certain themes with reused faces that nobody likes

It’s sad how around half a decade ago exclusive faces were pretty common and reuse was kinda rare

Okay, i agree however, the only thing lego seems to take into account for is; the eyes, the moth shape, the cheek structure (e.g pronounced gets to cheek lines), and facial hair. so it makes sense why they reuse when those features are shared

Yeah..they really need to start using new face prints or something different. Reusing the same ones over and over again is a problem, and some reuses are really bad. Tbh, I don't mind the reused face expression for Yelena, doesn't bother me too much. But others...yikes

Gosh the face for Padmé in the 2013 Republic Gunship was one of the most incredible and accurate face print ever made, such a shame they didn’t re-use it again :/

As a recreational LEGO fan rather than a collector I don’t care about exclusivity, and would rather have cool mini figs be accessible rather than artificially expensive.

well...thats exactly why i have a Action figure collection next to a legocollection. It s lego minifigs...u can not expect them to look like anything other then Lego Minifigs. if they have nice prints and correct colours ? im happy. if you want actor or actress alike faces? go the route of detailed actionfigure lines.

They also reused Tina's face on Lieutenant Connix, as opposed to either of the faces they'd previously used for Princess Leia. (Connix is played by Carrie Fisher's daughter, Billie Lourd)

It’s odd that we got 2 shang chi sets but I don’t think lego was too confident in sales for it hence only one new face for the death dealer.

Lego also made the face print for all the troopers in those lego Star Wars prequel sets look exactly the same smh

With the Mantice head, the best reuse in ny opinion was a generic trooper from Jurassic World. Although the head does sorta work for Zia Rodriguez from Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom when she loses her glasses.

I have that sort of issue with the yellow heads, the women heads all use the same sort of faces and not enough variety

7:20 you missed the fact that Poe’s head was reused again for Razor Fist In the Shang-chi set

This has always been a bit of a bother to me - luckily I don't collect every theme so, for example, I use Black Widow's head exclusively for her. (And Rachel Greene, but that's it). I remember getting Mantis, and just disliking her face from the get go. Though it's a bit inaccurate, I use the Judy Garland head from Dorothy for her. The aloof expression is just too good and captures the innocence of her character well enough. Overall, I end up mixing and matching heads to try to get a better gradient of who has the resemblance enough to use it more than once. Excellent video as always!

I think you're right on the money, Holly. I hope Lego steps up their game better. One reason for optimism is how they recently chose to change the new clone troopers heads in Star Wars sets to the medium nougat color. Both expressions (representing the characters) as well as accurate skin tones should be important details to get right. Accurate representation matters!

Had anyone seen the video on Legos official channel about production of minifigure parts because they are churning them out 24/7 easy peasy so how hard can it be to make some new ones

Could someone please recommend an accurate and affordable Lego face for Fleur Delacour? I remember she mentioned one from a star wars set, but I don't really feel like having to specifically find which set it's from and scrubbing off part of the face to make it accurate

Considering how important minifigures are to Lego collectors and just general customers, Lego really don't seem to care about them, I think they assume that due to the simplified chibi stylisation of minifigures as long as they get the outfits right the faces and hair is far less important because the face makes up far less of a design than the costume does. I'd honestly just prefer one male and female face print for every character than the way they're doing it now, they either need to simplify minifigures overall or make all of them as detailed as CMF's. This bizarre middle ground where some minifigures are hyper detailed while other's are no where near detailed enough appearing side by side in the same set is just a bad look, and they really need to work out a consistent design. Because otherwise we're going to end up with more sets like Moff Gideon's light cruiser where two figures have arm and leg printing two only have leg printing and then one has neither. It's a far more fundamental problem with minifigure designs than just their faces but while Lego doesn't seem to realise it themselves people immediately look for faces and they are intrinsically the most important element, I think you could have one robe pattern for every Jedi minifigure and if everyone had a unique face print I don't the fact they all had the same torso print would be anywhere near as noticeable.

The classic LEGO City faces had more variety in their face prints And no, I don’t think that’s because they were supposed to represent American male figures, nope, definitely not that given how many new FEMALE figures have the same faces. *Definitely not that at all…*

I don't think they are going to make a face print for every single figure, that's a crazy amount of work and time, which they probably don't have. Also u have to consider the cost to make it, if they were going to do a face print for every single figure then they would probably by bankrupt

Again LEGO, if you wanted to stick with the colored skin for a character who doesn’t have dark skin, CONTINUE USING IT! I wasn’t really pissed off about it until the Shang Chi sets.
