7. **Glaze Firing**: The pottery is fired again at a higher temperature (around 2100-2300°F or 1150-1260°C) to melt the glaze and fuse it to the clay body. This creates the finished, glossy surface.
8. **Cooling and Finishing**: After the glaze firing, the pottery is allowed to cool slowly inside the kiln. Once cooled, any final touches like polishing or attaching handles may be done.
9. **Quality Check**: The finished pottery is inspected for defects, such as cracks or uneven glazing, before it's ready for use or sale.
Each step requires skill and attention to detail, and variations in techniques and materials can result in a wide range of pottery styles and finishes.
