Just a tip😁, don’t place potty try next to food and water. Chinchillas are cleanly animals. You wouldn’t eat in your bathroom either right?

I tend not to sh!t everywhere, nor do I pass my fecal matter through my digestive system a second time. Whilst I had to be trained not to wee everywhere, but I don't have too many non-accidental accidents.

You shouldn’t pair different sex’s together. They usually end up killing each other.

My chinchilla fluffy isn’t potty trained and he s 2 years old :(. It is extremely hard to train him. He’s very affectionate and loves kisses but when it comes to potty, he can’t. He always pees in the corner, so we put it in the corner, and then he changes places to pee. Now we have a water/pee proof pad in the cage cuz he pees everywhere

Pine isn’t the best either, it does produce more dust then aspen. So definitely use aspen for potty training 😊

Well, it’s not the safest because if they swallow it the bedding can get stuck in their system. I’m currently trying to get my chin off of paper, but she’s had it for 4 years so she’s reluctant to use a different one.

You should be using Kaytee paper bedding for chinchilla potty. It's way better for them. The wood shavings are bad for chinchillas. My chinchillas liked one corner of the cage to pee and mostly poo in.
