The first time we brought out Yorkie home we took him to the back yard and he peed. We had wee wee pads laid out and the next time he peed he went next to the paid. My wife sprayed it with something that is supposed to attract dogs to wherever it is sprayed. After that he peed on the pad and we gave him a small treat. That was 3 months ago and he goes on his pad every time except in the morning when he likes to go out in our yard. We had dogs over our 48 years of marriage and never had a dog like this. We put him into a playpen that night and he slept 8 hours without messing in it. We took him out and he went outside to pee. For the rest of the day he did all his business on the pad. Sometimes he pees a little just to get a treat. He is also the first dog that did not cry at night. With previous dogs my wife had to lay next to the cage for a few nights. He sits quietly in is baby playpen and waits for someone to lift him out. No accidents at all. He started playing fetch with us. He would get a ball and push it to us with his nose so we could throw it and repeat the process. None of our other dogs ever fetched unless we taught them. He eats the proper amount of food each day and never ever bothered us for table scraps when we eat. He is pretty maintenance free out of the box so to speak. He started humping my wife's leg so bought him a F buddy which is now his girlfriend whenever he gets horny. He loves to climb despite his small size and we wasted money on ramps. He easily jumps into every chair, bed and couch we have. Only issue is that he is a face licker. Loves to lick our faces and those of our guests. Other than that, he is a very good dog. Better be because he costs us $4,000 to buy from one of the best breeders in the US. He gets a little anxious and cries a little when my wife goes out. We solved that problem by buying a beautiful end table that is also a doggie crate. When we go out we place him in it. It is made for a larger dog so we have room to put food and water in it as well as his favorite toes. The bottom of the cage is a wee wee pad but he never has used it. He waits for us to come home and then goes to his wee wee pad to pee. He seems to need privacy when he poops though. He waits until we are out of sight and then pops, comes to get us because he wants his treat. We lucked out with this one.

I use a pee pad holder for my pup but I don't use pee pads in it and so I just wash it once she uses it instead of wasting pee pads.. been using it for a year now

This is good option especially as my dogs get older and it's getting harder for them to go to the stairs to go outside. It's good that the tray is there so the dogs won't tear up the pad.

You should buy at least 2 of these. So while you clean 1, there is another 1 that the dog can still use.

Hi! What are your tips on training a 2 yr old fiesty girl. She does pretty well with going outside and very minimal indoor accidents. However, I remotely work and sometimes get caught up on a meeting, etc or if it's raining and just want another option. I've tried to srand her on top of the potty tray, but she doesn't like it.... 🤷‍♀️ BTW, I too have 3 yorkies.... my oldest male (12) is a marker, so he wears a pamper daily, younger male (9) does very well and this fiesty 2 yr old female....

I got a puppy almost 2 years ago, and I followed all your potty training videos as soon as my puppy got home becauseI didn't want to do outdoor pottytraining, however. ..nothing worked, he would even poop in his kennel where it waz only small enough for him to turn around. After 3 months of trying, I gave up. I may be getting a shitzu in mid summer, I'm going to try again, and if it doesn't work, I'm just going to do the outdoor potty training.

I purchased a few pee pad holders after watching your video about 5 weeks ago. My puppy is 17 weeks old and he is a Shih Tzu . He is sometimes going potty a few feet away and just not wanting to use them anymore. And sometimes he'll go half on and half off the pad and get the rest of it on the rug . It's been a real issue . Now im wondering how it will be once he is an adult and lifts his leg😢. Not sure if you can help me out with any of this but I thought I would come to you for advice since I chose the pee pad holder because of listening to your video. Thanks for your advice by the way.

Looks like yours is missing a layer I also have one just like this but mine came with artificial grass there is no way my dogs would ever go on this with out it there tiny little paws and nails would get caught in thoes holes 🙄 with out the top tart of grass and having the grass on top when they poo 💩 makes it much easier to clean up too your not scrubbing thoes holes and crevasses out every-time

I don’t understand…you’re cleaning the top, the back, underneath where the pad was and the area around the pad??? This sounds like a hot mess. Am I missing something?

This is ridiculous so when they make number two it goes all inside the holes and gets stuck in there then you have to sit there and scrub it and clean it pretty disgusting
