This is the proper way to build a ramp. The whole pouring it and push it in seems un professional. Great work 💪

I am seeing rock or aggregate under the rebars. I guess that is mainly to level the slope. I am wondering if it is a good idea to use sand instead.

That's exactly how they put them in at the Sprocket factory but the professional boat ramp dorks put in preformed 16"X4"X10' concrete blocks on top of 3" crushed rock.

Nice resuLts! Why did the water return while the ramp remained shored?
@knepperconstruction63356 жыл бұрын
The shoring was not completely water tight so they stop the pumps and it filled in in a couple hours

Nice Job , Only thing I would have done different was to use an overhead concrete pump , Avoid all that hose dragging .

How did they joint finish the low bottom end of that ramp with a joint tool with poles like that?
@takotako80811 ай бұрын
I'm confused too and have 0 knowledge. Would the area submerged need to be finished? Does that make it more resilient??? Idk why I'm asking .. I'll never own a boat 🤷 12k + where im at for something that may sink 10 minutes into your first ride 🤣

Agreed. The coffer dam material & labor istallation alone, cost more than the loads of concrete & both type pumps. 52918

Since that was salt water the concrete should have known better to keep the water out while the rebar was down and no concrete poured yet because he has just started concrete cancer and rust in the rebar.
@bradbergsma6736 жыл бұрын
Corey Dark rebar comes rusted. Have you ever worked a day in your life???? If rust was a concern, stainless rebar, or green coated rebar would have been used.. Think before you comment, or don't comment at all... Thanks bye
@JM-yx1lm6 жыл бұрын
And ro add more, concrete is mixed with water....bet you didnt even know that either!!
@billjohnson61686 жыл бұрын
You need oxygen also for corrosion to occur. The re-bar is fully encased in concrete. The concrete will probably need replaced before the re-bar corrodes apart.
@1D10CRACY6 жыл бұрын
Corey Dark Yup. Should have used epoxy coated rebar and vibrated it in like they do highways.

Seems like a waste of time. Most docks I’ve seen built are poored above shoreline and pushed into the water with a bulldozer.
@Cerus986 жыл бұрын
Good luck getting a 12” thick slab of concrete moved without breaking - especially without rebar. If the grade doesn’t match the slab it will crack under the pressure. Building a dam and draining the water is the best method. This isn’t some private pond ramp that’s only 6” thick and 10’ long. KZfaq experts lol
@RHEC17766 жыл бұрын
brian stuart you're a fucking moron and the company you work for sounds fucking idiotic. What reputable concrete company doesn't use rebar for concrete that will carry a heavy load. Fuck off man
