amazing car man, looking to grab one later in a few years. question, should i settle for the 2017< models or should i be worried about the bore scoring issue? the price difference between 991.2 and 991.1 is significant.
@992rstt8 ай бұрын
I personally wouldn't touch the 991.1 as the 10 year engine warranty will be running out soon. Unless the engine has already been replaced, then I guess it might be safe. Or perhaps you might be able to find a 991.1 with extended Porsche warranty, as I believe that is extendable up to 15 years.
@emncali8 ай бұрын
@@992rstt appreciate the input brotha! stay happy
@CarYenta-17 ай бұрын
@@992rstt The price difference alone pays for a new 991.2 engine in a 991.1 if it ever goes. 100% should get a 991.1 with a G6 engine if you can find it since those replacement engines are extremely reliable.
@992rstt7 ай бұрын
@@CarYenta-1 True, but sadly not everyone thinks like that. And because of that, .1 prices have been declining whereas .2 prices have been going up. My .2 has appreciated over 20% since I bought it in March of this year. If you can find a good deal on a .1 and don't mind potentially losing a few bucks on it, then definitely go ahead - it's probably the best bang for your buck.
@genegade7 ай бұрын
991.1s will become collector items to people who were willing to swap the engine out. That said, the .1 is pretty quirky when the engine is swapped. The .2 is just a massive improvement in every way, with a bulletproof engine. Worth the extra $

how is the drone when driving "normal"?
@992rstt7 ай бұрын
Depends on your version of "normal". City driving or short errands are very manageable. For anything beyond 30 minutes, I find that it's a bit more comfortable with earplugs due to the vibrations from the loud exhaust. This summer I made the mistake of driving 12 hours in one day without ear plugs and afterwards, my ears felt like I had just spent 12 hours standing at a festival right in front of the speakers. Can't complain though! It never gets old.
