@northfluffАй бұрын
alright im gonna be as polite as i can here, forgive me if im rude. OCD, or obsessive-compulsive disorder, is NOT a synonym for “clean” or “tidy”. It’s a debilitating mental disorder that can ruin your life (speaking as a diagnosed person). It’s okay to mess up once and say “I’m so OCD!!”, but it’s NOT okay to be unaware of the effects of mental health stigma.
@DragonhexАй бұрын
yes. i have it too, and it often leaves me in flood of tears. it makes me sensitive to everything, boils my brain, and is not the same as perfectonist.

Can we just make it clear that having OCD and being obsessive are two very different things. Like someone else has put in the comments, it not an adjective. Just use the word obsessive or something that is actually descriptive and not a mental illness. I like you're content a lot but please can we end this social issue with using the term OCD as a quirky personality trait instead of what it is - a tormenting condition that can make people seriously ill. Thank you ❤

me and my trainer are the opposite of this. We will do a quick walk of whatever we set up but as fox hunters we believe it’s good for the horse to be able to figure it out themselves as long as it’s safe. cant count how many times we’ve had a log in front of a stone wall and my horse would handle it fine because we did stuff like this. thanks for coming to my TED talk😭

You can use disorders as a description in some cases. When being diagnosed, someone would say “you have OCD” wouldn’t they? They can be formatted into adjectives.

@@elysedonia7123 yes but not in this way, ocd is not all ‘Oh mwy gowsh My RoOm Is A mEsS, oh naurr my hair isn’t perfection’ it’s a serious disorder and shouldn’t be used in this manner

She was saying “THAT ocd show jumper”, saying that it’s a stereotype. I won’t go in detail with this, but it’s not anything towards ocd I think. I’m not 100%, but I’m just letting you know
@ez.equestrianАй бұрын
@@beaded.by.ali10 stereotyping a disorder isn’t okay, I get your point but its still not right. I’m a fan of hers but stuff like this isn’t cool, and as someone who know someone who actually has ocd pple often assume its just a silly little problem and confused it with ‘perfectionism’ which would have been the correct term to use in her video and this stereotyping can be quite problematic. . Sorry if anything came off as rude x
@smackaroo4159Ай бұрын
Lover her content but I agree entirely. Yeah it’s a title most everyone understands isn’t serious, but that’s the issue is how easily a serious topic like OCD can be watered down by people who use a stereotypical definition for a clickbait title. OCD can entail a lot of tearing at your skin and mindless flicking of a switch or button until it angers you, not just ‘Oh my pencils must be organized by color!”
