The secret to El Impoluto is that the safest way to tackle her is ironically enough to be hyper-aggressive and go for ramming and point blank cannonfire yourself and never let her get any breathing space to turn around on you. The twins are worse. Like, seriously, first time I tried them, they literally did the fucking Beckett death scene from Pirates of the Carribean 3 to me.

This is EXACTLY how your first encounter feels with a legendary ship. The shanties disappear, a short cutscene plays and the low pitched horns kick in when it hits you that this is one fight you probably won't come out of alive.

I remember as a kid me and my dad played the game together and one day while he was at work I was just messing around sailing to different places until I triggered a cutscene for one and I sent it to him. We both were so excited to find out what it was.

Rogue's legendary ships were also pretty cool. You show up to The Storm Fortress with a small fleet, and it just annihilates them, only to have 2 more man o'wars show up

Edward was using a brig and that had more armor than what we use on rogue plus sinking all those man of war while dodging all the infinite mortals volleys from the storm fortress was not easy. The storm fortress can be considered dark soul tier of difficulty.

@@AMaidenlessRunt from a lore Perspective it was probably harder for Shay to defeat SF than it was for Edward to defeat any of the legendary ships but gameplay wise I would disagree. I beat storm fortress on my second try, never having played the boss before previously. I replay black flag every now and then and I can easily say that I still get destroyed by some of the legendary ships. The one with mortars, that can only be damaged from behind is the one that comes to mind the most for me.

Once you've known El Impoluto's weakness, she's basically a dangerous target practice. Approach her head-on, then use your bow swivel gun at her bow to stun her. Get beside her, and then unload heavy or flame shot at her. Trust me, that WORKS.

Even easier, get behind her and follow her. She doesn't have fire barrels. Chain shot so can't get away. Ram to destroy it. No skill needed.

There is that mission at the beginning when you have to get 70 or so irons to get your first upgrade, I accidentality triggered El Impoluto. my poor jackdaw was turned into Swiss cheese.

They don't spawn until sequence four, unless it's your first time capturing the fort for their area (The mark appears on the map but it will despawn if you get off the Jagdaw as well as all the other ships, Its how I had my first traumatic encounter w a legendary ship, but my game may just be bugged

I managed to just barely defeat it, but only after I finished the main story and had a fully armored Jackdaw. Even then it was super nerve wracking and took all my focus. I was disappointed when it sank immediately, I was hoping I’d be able to board it and send it to the fleet lol

The Legendary Ships were such great end game enemies in that game. Now I use them to farm Reales with the twin ship. Destroy one, pick up the money it drops and let the other kill you. You get to keep the money and try the fight against both of them again. Really helps to max out the ship.

I once got stuck in a loop where for some reason everytime I died, I’d respawn with her bearing down on my. It took me a few tries to really outrun her and get away. This video captures that feeling perfectly👌😂

One time I fought the twin ships, and I don't know if it was a glitch or something, but water spouts were still spawning and coming between us during the fight. I was having to done their ship fire AND those spouts. I think I ended up losing that time, but won the next time. Regardless,that was EPIC.

1. the charge skill unlocks after completing all legendary battles 2. If you approach the Impoluto in the front the game will take it as the enemy charged 3. You need the maps from Kenway's fleet to unlock the last Jackdaw upgrade and 2 other pointless treasures

@@Engille967 Actually by the time I faced her off I had the ram, so I used that instead. I then just kept attacking her from the back and occasionally shot several full broadsides. No final explosive barrel is needed.TBH she wasn't the worst Legendary for me, the worst was definitely La Dama Negra.

I once tried to swim to one of the twins to see if i could climb aboard and take out the crew. Instead, i swam in front of the broadside of the ship to the right and get decimated by a single volley of heavy shot.

One of the times I went up against this ship on a play through I thankfully never got fully slammed into but when that ship gets close and it’s that fast and that big…. It’s terrifying, it towers over you and even though my cannons were doing serious damage my heart still sank seeing that behemoth right next to me after juuuuuussssst missing me 😨

For people who playing today. If ship is trying to ram you, turn around and show him your back at a distance of 500m (400 is also good but everything underneath has the risk of getting hit). Use then 1,2 or even 3 mines. The explosion forces the el impoluto to miss you when it tries to ram you but be still careful as it's velocity is still higher so the ship will swim passed very close with risk of hitting you. But as it does it you have the best opportunity to deal a lot of damage upclose.

Oddly enough El Impoluto is the only legendary ship i struggle agaist, because of how its charge literally chips away 1/4 of your hp (when your hp is maxed out). Other ships i managed to beat first try, even the twins or La Dama Negra.

The Brothers in Arms (HMS Fearless and Royal Sovereign) are tougher. It’s pretty much impossible to beat them without losing 2/3rds of your health.

Skill issue. Joke aside they are definitely the hardest along side impoluto. If I remember correctly it's mich better to try and take them both out at the same time because if you don't, one of them goes berserk once the first one sinks.

Man I used go to the edge right where legendary ships could see you and they charge towards you, I use to get off my ship and swing on to legendary ship then start killing, cutting thier flags and go back to my ship and finish off the smoking half destroyed legendary ships. Best way to cheese it 😋

For me it was "La Dama Negra", as that ship always ran away, forcing me to fight her mostly through mortars that I ran out of halfway through her health. While dodging her mortars isn't hard, the moment you slip up on dodging them is the moment you lose half of a health segment, even when bracing while speeding through it.

You need to stay close and spam chain cannons. I barely took damage at a like that. I actually found this technique immeadatly and beat her Like that first try ever without losing even one bar health. You can even beat her without too much difficulty with a barely upgraded jackdaw like that

@@lewisevans4580 every time I got close, she would ram me. Even with chain shots, she wouldn't back off on rams unless I used explosive barrels. Obvious issue with that is turning my ship so the stern faces her.

@@LastRookieThats the problem I had with El Impoluto. Kept ramming me in the butt. Barrels didn't help, ramming front in front, didnt help (the game counted it as If i was rammed) and it's more maneuverable. La Dama Negra on the other hand normally doesn't ram. It's only the twins in rage mode and El Impoluto who are aggressively ramming. When I spam chainshots at the La Dama Negra and mostly stay behind her she is pretty much helpless and sometimes even shoots herself. No joke, it's possible to beat her like that with a low level Jackdaw with basically no upgrades. I tried it I found a video of someone pretty much doing it, like I explained. Ok so as a sort of street Samaritan on the internet. I will break it down, The Ram, she likes violating your personal space, that is main threat, however she does not take to well having others in her personal space, IE keep close and be aggressive with the heavy shots. The Twins, or Ying and Yang are just two Manowars which their main threat is to sandwhich you, so the strat, keep moving and focus on removing one, do not focus on both at the same time.
