A better analogy would be an annoying child who kept on lying about everything wondering why his classmates don’t like him and instead of realising that maybe he is the problem he thinks he is special and acts smugly. When everyone hates you you are either doing something right or doing something very wrong. I think it is obvious which case this is.

For anyone who wasn't aware, the Mosin Nagant rifle is still being used in the Ukraine war to this day. Soldiers who get one now are a lot less happy about it then they used to be, but the 7.62x54r round is still an effective and deadly round available in large numbers for cheap. I myself love my old ww2 Mosin. It's cheap, reliable, and only occasionally catches on fire.

Admiral Yi's story is so much more crazy, dude enlisted in land army, had a promising officer career, was badmouthed by a rival so bad that he got imprisoned, tortured and demoted, eventually joined again after he got released, having to start from a simple soldier, got into navy, had an even more promising career, refused to get the fleet into an obvious trap, got badmouthed by a Japanese spy in the court so bad that he got imprisoned, tortured and demoted, got released, handed the sad leftovers of the fleet after his replacement walked into the previously mentioned trap, proceeded to emerge victorious anyway. And for all of that he got killed in the final battle just as the enemy was breaking and had his nephew don his armour and pretend to be him until the victory was achieved. Imagine getting thrown into a dungeon, being beaten to the verge of death, having your legs broken and the dudes just waltz in into your prison cell one day and say 'our bad, you are the hero we need, please come back and fix this shitshow we punished you for trying to avoid'. And you just go 'okay'. When that musket ball hit him he probably just sighed.
