I remember elite quests in silverpine forest, where you should kill arugal's servants. It was like "wow, this mob has a golden dragon around it" => 5 sec later => release spirit

I remember the first I died to arugal. I had no idea what killed me, I just knew it was quick. The second time I died I saw him and deduced that it was him the first time. Took me a while to know that he was an elite mob and what was an elite mob.

My first elite mob(s) were the Horde Outriders in Loch Modan I believe. Tried so many times to kill them and I was a couple levels higher and my pet was a awesome bear, but I just couldn’t beat them. I was defeated. I miss being 6. HOWEVER! Clsssic came around and I tried the exact same thing. And I still lost. So a few months later I just came back as 60 and killed them that way. It may have been 15 years of waiting f for revenge, but I did it.

I get the same experience, just go to dead retail servers. The experience alone or with friends is amazing, especially since rares spawn so often and you can do full quests if you don't care for end game

this actually happened exactly like this on nostalrius 7 years ago and i still remember it like it was yesterday. I wasnt the hunter but a few of us were around and the hunter looking for it and we were all yelling STOP STOP! and im pretty sure it was a ret pally too and he was just like whaaaa? and kept auto attacking and killed it and walked away

Lol thats what I call justice. I had the same problem by searching that wolf as a hunter. I waited 5 days until i got him at 2:00 a.m. just to figure out that they removed the shadow strike ability in the classic edition.

Around 2010 or so, during the very last hour of the Midsummer event, i found an Alliance players running around Silvermoon, trying to avoid the guards while approaching the main gate to left the city Being in a pvp server, i cockblocked and killed him. Then he made a trowaway horde character just to insult me and wishing me a painfull death. The dude was trying to do the yearly festivities meta-achievement for the Violet Proto Drake, and he needed ONE LAST achievement to complete his year long task. The bonfires achievement, and the very last one he needed was the Eversong Wood one. Thanks to my intervention, he failed, and he would had to wait an ENTIRE YEAR, just to vanquish that single Everong Woods bonfire to obtain his Proto-Drake. I hope that fella eventually got his mount. I wouldnt had ganked him if i knew.

Has there been a Gladiator mount in the mailbox video yet? Best moment of all time in TBC was getting the Gladiator mount at 310% speed and everyone else was on their slow ass 280%. Riding it for the first time felt so incredible.

I remember grinding mobs in Badlands in OG vanilla and stumbled upon a rare spawn and killed it. That rare spawn was Broken Tooth, a highly sought after hunter pet. I got quite a few nasty whispers that day. My 12-13 year old brain couldn't comprehend why people were so angry. Linking the crappy green it dropped only added fuel to the fire. I was trolling and didn't even know it.

Nowdays hunters can have they revenge. They stay on Oondasta worldboss and tame it before anyone can kill it. Then release and wait another respawn.

In vanilla, Lupos was the only pet that had a damage type; he did dark damage. In classic he did regular damage, so he was just an average pet. Broken tooth on the other hand....

yah lupos was mostly a private server thing i believe.. because his auto attacks did shadow damage and went right through armor

I still kill every rare spawn I find. I have an addon that pings if one is near. Sometimes they drop good items or have a little lore background like the rare in silverpine forest being a WC3 NPC.
