Thank you, thank you, thank you for finally visiting and walking around Amarante, as you promised you would. Amarante is absolutely beautiful - the perfect centuries-old “15-minute city”. Walking its streets is like tangibly experiencing a medieval fairytale that someone is reading out loud. When my son visited Amarante, he stayed at the beautiful Hotel Casa da Calçada Relais & Chateaux, where he learned that the oldest “Vinho Verde” vineyard in Portugal is located in the rear area of the hotel grounds. If I could, I would retire in Amarante is a New York minute, and spend however many years-in-minutes I have left there, walking its streets while listening to the medieval fairytale being read out loud. One day you have to visit it and try one of the pastries. 😊😆 Good luck to the All Blacks in the Rugby World Cup, I've been watching as many games as I can, despite not understanding most of the rules of the sport. 😅 Rugby is not a popular sport in Portugal, but I like it.

I don't associate Portugal with Rugby and was surprised to see they had a game against Georgia. Even though it was a draw, at least they have some points on the table. It has been an interesting world cup for us so far with losing the first game and then Australia not doing great either. Keeps it interesting.

@@lindanz7578 We could / should have won that game against Georgia, I was so disappointed with the penalty kick we missed in the last few seconds. But it's a good result overall, Georgia are ranked higher than us, all their players are professional, mostly playing in France. Only 17 of our 33-man squad are professional, also playing in France. Portugal - Australia this Sunday. I'd be happy with a couple of tries. 😎 NZ will still easily qualify for the quarter-finals, and then anything can happen.

@@lindanz7578 We did very well, that yellow card in the first half was terrible for us, we conceded 3 tries, hence the 20 point difference at the end. 15 years ago we probably would have lost that game 80-5, so we are improving. 😊 I hope Fiji rest all their best players, we might have a tiny tiny chance then...

@@POVTours Mi-a plăcut mult. Pot afirma sincer că am simțit o plăcută atracție pentru întreg nordul Portugaliei. Doar pentru că am reușit să vizitez doar nordul, m-aș întoarce încă o data în viața asta, ca să vizitez centrul și sudul țării. As reveni și in Amarante nu doar o dată, pentru că m-a atras istoria orașului, împrejurimile, și, mai ales, am simțit cât de mult mi-a priit să mă aflu în acel loc. Eu cred că Portugalia a devenit pentru mine țara transformărilor interioare. M-am simtit distinsă, relaxată, am avut parte de emoții pozitive, iar bunăvoința și simplitatea oamenilor m-a impresionat de fiecare dată. 🥰 Mulțumesc divinității pentru această vacanță! ❤️✨️

Nice to get a chance to see Amarante, we have never stopped there only passing through when going from Regua to the Minho. The one abiding memory I have is a crooked chimney seen from the N15 just north of the town at the junction of Rua das Golas.

I didn’t see us but we stayed at Casa do Ribeirinho which you walked by a couple times. It was beautiful! It was our first city on our Portuguese scouting trip with @callmesteam. We’re in Santirem today and will go to Constancia and Torre Novas tomorrow thanks to your videos.

Ola Miguel, acabei de ver o video sobre Amarante, mais uma daquelas cidades que você moraria com certeza, fica mais dificil de voce escolher uma cidade para morar na terreinha, mas se eu pudesse voltar com certeza eu iria morar na mi- nha terra (Pampilhosa) ou o mais próximo possivel. Os franceses com certeza fizeram horrores nas invasões a Portugal e mesmo assim a gente escolheu o frances praticamente como uma segunda lingua excetuando-se o ingles que nem é considerada lingua estrangeira. Boa noite Alcides! Sem dúvida que a nossa terra natal é sempre especial e a que nos deixa mais saudades. As invasões Franceses foram terríveis a todos os níveis, pela destruição que causaram, pelos roubos de obras de arte de valor incalculável, a tortura das populações, culminando nos problemas políticos e económicos que causaram no reino... Especialmente quando o país ainda mal tinha recuperado do terramoto de 1755. Obrigado e grande abraço, até domingo! 😊

Hello Lilly! 😊 Yes, there's a bus company called RodoAmarante (rodoamarante.pt/#/pt/rodoamarante/routes), they have routes covering the whole municipality.
