In season two of Iconic Lifts, a Powder Productions Original presented by Strafe Outerwear, Mad River Glen's Single Chair, Whistler's Peak Express, and Snowbird's Aerial Tram are the featured lifts. Their influence on skiers provides an unforgettable experience.

We just had a Peak chair day today. Closed for 2 days, then open with 50cm+ wind-loaded snow. Worth the wait!

I did a season there working on mountain. To everyone saying here or there is better honestly you need to spend a year there. Even then you don’t see half of what Whistler blackcomb has to offer. I was never bored skiing there and we shut like one half day the whole season, honestly it’s unreal. And the locals like Mike Douglas, Ian MacIntosh or Sarah Burke were all super chill.

The Peak chair is fantastic this a great video about it. The only unfortunate thing is that shortly after it went in they permanently closed Don’t Miss, Friday The Thirteenth and Blue Monday. In the old days of hiking to the peak before the chair they were outstanding. The untracked powder in West Bowl and to a lesser extent Whistler Bowl would last for days now its trashed pretty quickly.

There was also more etiquette back then, as each skier in that area was generally an expert, they'd take a line next to the previously skied line - working our way across Glacier Bowl.

Only skied the Peak once with my dad when I was 10... I just remember not being brave enough to traverse this one cliff, so we had to back out... I'm always letting him down :)

My day record on this lift is 35. 14,000 vert meters. It's a great lift, but it can get busy on the pow day.

All of this is in bounds and well handled by the ski patrol, though in bound avys do happen here it’s not required to have a transceiver, shovel, probe etc.

Did you see how long the lines are? Walking uphill to get into the singles line! That skiing better be damn good, because you'll stand in line for 15 minutes before every run up that vaunted Peak chair, if it is open in the fog, wind and even rain at the top of the top lift on the mountain! And how long does it take to get at this iconic lift? Multiple lifts with long liftlines to access it.

Lines aren’t usually too bad and the skiing is well worth it and it’s actually only like 500 ft downhill from the main lodge so not bad at all

It’s off east face, it’s to skiers right of the coffin and you have to take glacier cirque and traverse above hobbit tracks to get there… it’s a bit of a zone claimed by the freeride club, not many others ski it

except in europe it would be closed for avalanche risk and you need to hire a guide, here it is open and avy controlled NA IS better for off piste as it is controlled I have skied europe and NA

Sry but iam living in the alps and I really don't understand whats so special about this lift and it sounds like a typicall american video about why we are the best... I welcome you to shred in europe! You pay less, we have lifts like this one everywhere and we are still staying a little bit more down to earth!

this is in canada and is the opinion of an independent magazine why are euros so snobby aBout NA skiing I have skied all over europe and whistler is a special place I tell you what you stick to doing your perfect wedel down a perfect groomed piste to a nice restaurant and have a nice glass of white wine then ski to the bottom and dance to euro disco in your ski boots like the caricature you are
