Power Air Fryer - Air Fried Tortilla Chips - Homemade Tortilla Chips
This is a very easy way that I make homemade tortillas chips without frying. You only need a few ingredients to make these air fried tortilla chips at home any time you're in the mood. In my opinion these are way better than store bought tortilla chips which have become thin and salty. Making your own tortilla chips using your air fryer also allows you to control the salt content and flavors you enjoy most. Also, because these are made from a thicker corn tortilla, the chips can hold up to all kinds of dips and cheeses without falling apart. Give these a try, I'm sure you will agree. You can check out the ingredients and baking instructions below.

Ingredients:
Corn Tortillas (White or Yellow)
Garlic Oil or Cooking Spray
Salt
Garlic Powder
Onion Powder
Ranch Dressing Powder
Nacho Shredded Cheese Blend
Guacamole
Prep:
Lightly oil the tortillas or you can spray them on both sides with a flavored cooking spray.
Sprinkle some of the seasoning (optional) This can be done when they come out of the oven.
Cut the tortillas into quarters.
Place the cut tortilla chips into a single layer on a baking rack or tray
Bake:
Power Air Fryer Oven: 320°F for 12 minutes
Conventional Oven: Preheat to 350°F bake for 20 minutes
You can season the chips when they come out of the oven and still warm.
Plate and Enjoy Or...
Place them into a baking pan or dish, add some shredded nacho cheese to the tops of the air fried tortilla chips,
continue to bake at 320°F (350°F Conventional Oven) for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
Plate and add a couple of spoonfuls of guacamole to the top and Enjoy them Even More!

Here is my excuse for mispronouncing tortillas. I'm an immigrant from Italy, came to the US as a young child. I have workout my accent over the years but sometimes the Italian in me reverts back. To clarify, in Italian the "LL" are pronounced as strong "LL"s . To get the same sound as the Spanish tortilla we use the "gli" in place of the "LL"s. Hope this explains my pronunciation difficulties. Going to have to work on it some more. Thanks to all who caught it, I wouldn't have noticed it otherwise.😆👍

There is a different accent to south and central american Spanish ( ""ll" =y) and castilian spanish (from actual European Spain, "ll"="li"), Cabrillo college which is in Cslifornia is often mispronounced with the central American accent when the proper pronunciation is the Castilian accent.

I’m 3/4 Mexican and 1/4 Italian. I had to rewind in the beginning to double check if you said chilaquiles and almost got excited. Chilaquiles involve tortillas, tomato sauce/salsa and cheese, even eggs. Overall, I’m the opposite. I try pronouncing Italian with a Spanish accent. Great vid.

Cut a few of them there tor till aws in strips, you can fit them on the rack better. And put cheese on two or 3 layers of chips, or else only the top few chips will have cheese.

No matter how you pronounced it, the recipe and method was great and I finished off a 2-avocado guacamole bowl with chips made your way. Good to go!!! Thanx! By the way, I grew up with some Italian friends in San Francisco and one of them has a last name of Iaconelli... he pronounces it "EeYaconelli" but there's a famous bass fisherman in NJ with same name who pronounces it with a long "I" as in "Eye"conelli ... so I understand various cultures pronounce letters in their own way and even "Americanized" cultures don't pronounce the way their homeland counterparts do. Pronounce tortilla the way you're comfortable with. Thanx again for the great vid!

No, no tortilla chips. This is a Mexican staple known as TOTOPOS, that is it’s real name.
@YourEverydayJoe
@YourEverydayJoe 3 жыл бұрын
Marc thanks for clarifying this. I had not heard the name TOTOPOS so I researched it and according to wikipedia "The name, totopo, comes from the Aztec (or Nahuatl) tlaxcaltotopochtl. This name is a compound of the word for a tortilla, tlaxcalli, plus the word for thunder. The combined word means, approximately, "tortillas that are noisy to chew". I think I like the term THUNDER CHIPS!😎👍 Thanks.
