Have you been able to cluster 2 gateways? Whenever I do that, my refreshes always fail. It says it can reach the gateway but not the data source. I am connecting to a SQL Server in my environment.

How is this different from connecting SQL db with ODBC?

I am doing following steps Step1: Created an on-premise gateway on my server(other then sql server) however this server has full connectivity to my sql server in the same network. Step2: Created a data set using desktop version of powerbi .IN the credentials chosen localhost as the same name which I used for regestering on server is not working. Step3 :Now when I publish this the gateway is set as localhost in powerBI cloud version.As a result it shows connectivity issues. Am I doing something wrong?How can I make my desktop powerBI version connect with the gateway configured on my server directly so that I dont have to worry about the connection for various environments.I cannot see option for choosing the gateways. Please help.

Hi Adam, Would it be a good idea to install gateways in 3rd party environments? I'm working in a large enterprise and aside from sources we can access directly in the cloud and sources in our on-premise network (which we handle with gateways) we also have 3rd party's who host certain servers in their own environment. I think my main fear is not so much the technical working of it but the fact that I'm now creating dependencies on 3rd party's systems e.g. what if their server is down. Maybe it is a cleaner method to send over files instead?

The computer must be trusted for delegation and the current user account must be configured to allow delegation". What might be the cause and a likely solution, please.

Adam Im running the on premise gateway and run into a 64 bit issue with MS Access. Ive run the executables for access and can import into the power bi desktop and refresh but can load into an app and publish without that error showing up. Any ideas.
