We saw the video for Copilot in Microsoft Fabric. Copilot for Power BI is coming! But is it here already? Patrick shows one Copilot experience that's already in Power BI Desktop!

It's always nice to buy and have new tools, but you need to learn on how to use them and make the best of it. I like the idea of staying on a single place rather than having multiple apps opened. Looking forward of trying and improving my DAX code!

I have seen this for a while and would love to try. Unfortunately, our sys admin has turned off all co-pilot functionality until the organisation decides it is OK for us to utilise. Baby steps!!

Chatgpt knows DAX. This is already very helpful. Cause some of the DAX syntax is really hard to remember.

It has a ways to go. I gave it a specific table and column to filter by and it switched it to a completely different table. I have tried it several times now and it is only "helpful" with very simple dax which I don't need help with anyways.

Suggestions with copilot seems to inactive on my machine yet I have an August 2023 versions of powerbi. What I can do to have it active

I believe suggestions are only available in the US, or countries where storing data in the US is allowed. So for all of us Europeans, unfortunately this won't work.

typically the guys advertise cool functionality without informing that it doesn't work for non US. It's not okay for Microsoft to prioritize the US every time

I have a different perspective; I'm not a fan of it because I spent hours using it to communicate with Copilot. It generated a DAX code that didn't meet my requirements, leading me to rewrite it multiple times until achieving the desired outcome. I find greater satisfaction in manually crafting DAX code rather than relying on Copilot. I do wish, however, that Copilot could be seamlessly integrated into Power BI reports, allowing viewers to ask questions.

What are the restrictions for this in terms of models? Mine is greyed out, possibly because I use live connection to a PBI dataset for my model. Is it like the Q&A where many features are only available when using import mode?

In my dataset, it's telling me to turn on Q&A in order to use the feature, so I guess it comes with the restrictions of Q&A.

@@user-uf4rk9qy1x Yeah I’ve done that but I still have restrictions with Q&A such as the tooling option. That’s only available in import mode. Very frustrating.

Hi Guys, Can anyone tell me if there is a way in which we can manage Row Level Security on multiple columns. For Eg. If a user is listed in List 1 then the relationship should be Customer Unit, if the user is in List 2 then the relation should be Business Area otherwise the relationship to be used is Sold To Party.

it's not working in my PPU even though Q&A is enabled in my tenant and it's also enabled in my Power BI Desktop August 2023 preview tab. Is it released globally or only in US?

Read my other comment, if you're in a country outside of the US, it may not work, due to data storage limitations. EU and some other countries don't have this, as your data needs to go to the US

Not viable yet, which is a good thing. Keep your models complex and AI will be years before take over. It would have been way quicker to write the DAX albeit what you asked was simple. Most people who are developing on Power BI know the basics of DAX which Copilot is struggling with at the moment as you still need to be so specific

Whole copilot video creating reports from just prompts was a gimmick from microsoft, it will take more time to reach to that level

I think it's not that useful. Dax syntax is not so complicated, and if it gets to that level of difficulty, then prompting right is almost as hard as getting the dax measure right Maybe having a copilot to discuss how to build the measure itself would be a little more useful than translating the already made idea into syntax, which is what this feature does

Still it makes up many DAX incoherences. It’s going the right way, but still the copilot has to learn a lot of DAX.

In Power bi Please provide an option to filter the night shift data according to a certain date. The most important thing here is that a night shift continues for two days. For example, the night shift on 24.08.2023 From 7.00pm on 24.08.2023 2023.08.25 till 7.00 am NightShiftFlag = IF(HOUR([ShiftStartTime]) >= 22 || HOUR([ShiftStartTime])
