@@travelkare How can that be done, I tried to look for tutorials, the only thing I found was to add an extension that turns the PowerBI Service website to dark mode, but thats not really what I am interested in. I want to turn PowerBI Desktop to darkmode not the service.

Please note as per research Dark mode is not good for the eyes!! It can actually cause more vision problems. Reading mode without Blue light is the best option.

@@TRZMac Hi, Using a dark screen requires your pupils to dilate which can make it harder to focus on the screen. Why does eye dilation make it harder to see? When your pupils dilate, your vision becomes less clear. When your pupils constrict under bright light, your vision sharpens. Just like a camera, a smaller aperture provides greater depth of focus. For this reason, it may be more difficult for some people to clearly see screen details in dark mode.

Likewise, we need column width size control in matrix and table visual.. which is essential. It's a shame we don't have such basic function yet.

The core visual updates so far have delivered so much... users appreciate detail. Just the other day, I had a situation where there was some confusion as to the derivation of a card value. Having reference labels on the slicer made it so much easier to show how values were working on the page. Every new capability is delivering real wins. I think in the past, a lot of features in Power BI were added on a "ticking a box" basis. They have the bare minimum to tick a box in a comparison matrix. The approach being taken on the core visuals - to build up components and capabilities, towards a goal of visuals being the best they can be, rather than just shippable is a welcome change. Two months with only a few bugfixes does feel like a slowing of the pace. I hope that this is just because the next level of capabilities is being built up for release when it is ready, and we will soon get the payoff of something not done by halves. These updates have definitely changed how I recommend Power BI. It goes from a product that does the job to one that has an exciting future. It would be reassuring if the update could acknowledge "sorry, nothing this month but we're working on it"

You could probably do this by creating a page in sharepoint using a power bi web part, then remove any navigation abilities so you’re only showing a page.

Can you please re-state what you are trying to do here?

@user-rn2by7wj8i sure. I have a composite model that direct queries another data model with a LOT of data in it. I don't have access to the data behind it and my I.T. team are unwilling to change it. I have need to perform some like for like cost/price inflation reporting from it and if i create a calculated table, which is only very recently possible, it seems to recalculate constantly and use up all our capacity. My report has c. 500 users per day. Ideally I'd want a calculated table that could be scheduled to import during refresh but that's not how it seems to work. I was thinking it might be possible to use a paginated report to do what the calculated table is doing as a montly extract via power automate I could then output to file and import to the model. It sounds a bit mad, but...

@@ChrisStewart-mn5wm Based on the requirement that you described, I don't think you even need to touch paginated reports. Within Power Automate you can 'Run a query against a dataset' e.g. EVALUATE SUMMARIZECOLUMNS('Table1'[Column1], "Count', COUNTROWS('Table1')) and then get it to save in your chosen SharePoint location ('Create CSV table' followed by 'Create file' in SharePoint ).

Not massively familiar with power automate, I tried to use it to schedule a paginated report to csv and it failed due to some sort of cpu or memory limit, so I had shelved this for a rainy day / until the screaming from users reached a crescendo 😄

Thanks for your feedback. Are you in Gov cloud by any chance? This is a preview feature and not available there yet. Also, if you create a report on the service, you should be able to Edit it as well. However, if you create the report in Power BI Report Builder, you can't edit it in the service.
