Other Japanese bands ? A few suggestions: Hanabie, Fate Gear, Band-Maid, Mary's Blood, Aldious, Bridear, Destrose, Unlucky Morpheus, Maximum the Hormone, Yousei Teikoku, Doll$Boxx, Otoboke Beaver, Wagakki Band and the grandmothers of female hardrock/metal Show-Ya. And there are many more.

I think you two would really like Unlucky Morpheus. They are a gothy metal band from Japan. Look for the song CADAVER/REVADAC. They play the first song CADAVER then they play it backwards note for note, REVADAC. Oh, almost forgot to mention, they have a heavy metal violinist (Jill) who does covers of Yngwie Malmsteen, Eddie Van Halen and Steve Vai.

The last decade has been awesome for the Japan rock/metal scene. They do tend to learn music at a young age in school.. Saw Nemophila in LA last yr, Great show & musicianship. They love to engage the crowd. The 2 guitarists (Saki & Hazuki) are my 2nd fav duo behind the Lovebites women. Check out Dissension, Revive & Seize the Fate (The lastet live one). 2 other all female bands are Band-Maid (more rock) & Hanabie (Just got done touring the US & Europe). Alot of fan crossover between these bands, especially Lovebites & Nemophila.

Nemophila is a great band. I'm glad you pronounced the band name correctly! This happens very rarely! I fell in love with this group at first sight. And my favorite song is "Adabana". You need to watch this music video! A few years ago I discovered Japanese rock/metal music. And it was a breath of fresh air. I highly suggest you to listen to the rock band BAND-MAID. This is a great band with amazing musicians (and they always wear maid outfits). You can start with their LIVE video "Domination". Another very cool band is Hanabie. Their songs have a very interesting structure and a mixture of many genres. You can start with their music video "We love sweets". Another great group is Unlucky Morpheus. They have a violin! The members of nemophila are musicians from different bands. They are all excellent musicians. And nemophila is a very unique and diverse band, with various genres of music appearing in their catalog. I recommend《oiran》live(recent one) as the next!🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻

Nemophila have a varied catalogue of rock/metal songs. They play many styles. You cant really go wrong with choosing a song. Their first music video RAITEI is a great song to check out next. LOVEBITES and HANABIE are also my favorite all lady bands. There are just so many great Japanese bands though and all filled with talented musicians.

One of my favorites of theirs. Love this band and am so glad I got to see them in concert in NYC. I was 2nd row right in front of Haraguchi-sun and it was the best concert I have been too.

Nemophila is 🔥.. they are very diverse and cover many genres..amazing musicians/artists Maybe check Oiran (live) Sieze the Fate (live) Zen(live) Raitei... Monsters..they do a couple iron maiden covers, and great Maximum the Hormone (japan) covers..

What a heartwarming and appreciating reaction. Thank you! 😊 I call Metal with positive and encouraging lyrics "Happy" Metal. And I extremely appreciate Nemophila (and Lovebites, by the way) for belonging to _Happy_ Metal. I actually do not like growling, but I appreciate the way Mayu (the main singer here) does it. Concerning the sudden "explosion" of musical creativity and energy from Japan: They _always_ played Metal there. But I assume, that they were only _studying_ the western Metal giants (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, Motörhead, Helloween a.s.o.). Now the "grown-up" and technically mature Japanese musicians got their Metal degrees, go into the world, and give back what they learned from the best, partially almost better than their teachers. 😊 I am a die-hard Lovebites fan, and I discover influences there from Iron Maiden and Helloween, and I often think, "Yeah, that sounds like Iron Maiden of former times, but played with today's techniques (sound systems). Strange experience. A bit like a time travel. 😊

NEMOPHILA is a flower and as Linné invented the name system in Swedish it will be Prins Gustav Öga / Prince Gustavs Eye. They are blue and white and yes I have planted these flowers in my garden! :-) Most of us outside Japan has lived under the rock concerning the musicscene in Japan. LOUDNESS is still playing by the way. There is other bands from the 80:ies that still plays. The all female SHONEN KNIFE still plays early RAMONES-like punk, The "grandmothers" of all female J- hardrock SHOW-YA is still playing, X-Japan has started again but to be honest it was a bit disappointment for me, The amazing NINGEN- ISU ( Japans Black Sabbath-ish), surely I have forgotten some.. they are so many bands that started in the 80:eis that still plays. But if You want to go really hard and maybe it is the Song of the Year JILUKA and the song VENOM. They play electro, gothic, extreme-ish Visual Kei metal

You could check out an old band (from the mid 1980) X-Japan. Try their song Kurenai From the "Last live" And if you want to se Nemophila girls have fun, se their cover of Kurenai. Awesome😃

For me the Lovebites group is above all the others in terms of their individual and collective technique, their creativity, their versatility. And, still for me, Némophila arrives right after systematically with big smiles, followed by The Warning, Band Maid, Mary's Blood and the young South Korean women of Rolling Quartz.

If you like Nemophilia check out their live videos for Zen and Oiran they both are heavy and show their awesome stage presence. Also you need to add Hanabie to your list of Japanese metal bands. Saw them a couple of weeks ago and was blown away. Earth We Love Sweets or Pardon Me I Have to Go Now are great starting spots.

Nemophila have a lot of good songs as well as a lot of covers that are really popular. Not all their songs are heavy but they are all good. You are right they are very productive in the 5 years they have been together the singer has had one baby and the drummer has had two. BAND-MAID is another fantastic all girl Japanese band that has been around for 10years. They are not metal they are just rock but everyone has great respect for them as they Really are the best of everything. Amazing drummer mind blowing bassist lead guitarist shreds singer is great. They are unbelievable live especially if they have set up their own sound stage. They sound better live than your favourite band does in the studio. You could also check out BABYMETAL and Korean band Rolling Quartz . There's an Italian band called Dogma who are nuns. Extremely naughty nuns. The hard rock show here in Australia 🇦🇺 played them but mr B in England says that it will get blocked but you could just check it out for your own benefit.

The Japanese women heavy metal bands are young musicians in contrast to our in the West beloved old rock and metal grandpas between 50 and 80. But then not as young as they seem to many older fans : Nemophila : Mayu (Vocals) 26 years - 1 child SAKI (Lead Guitar) 32 years Hazuki (Lead Guitar) 29 years Haraguchi-san (Bass) 26 years MurataTamu (Drums) 31 years - 2 childs Lovebites : Asami (Vocals) estimated 33 years - 1 child Miyako (Lead Guitar) 33 years - 1 child + 1 dog + 1 snake + 1 owl + 1 budgie Midori (Lead Guitar) 35 years Fami (Bass) 21 years Haruna (Drums) estimated 30 years Band Maid : These women are also all in their early 30's. Miku is married and has 2 children.
