This is by far the best-voiced 165 I've heard. Warm bass and accompaniment, clear violins, trumpets aren't too nasal and a good amount of power in the high notes. If you have more from it, I'd LOVE to hear!

I thought you said the Chase one was better voiced?

WOW! What a beautiful, rich warm sound! An organ with soul. Really nice arrangement of the song, also. Thank you for sharing.

I've been told this is a Verbeeck reproduction like the one at Seabreeze Amusement Park in New York.
@CBF14 жыл бұрын
There's many differences between the reproduction at Seabreeze to a real one which this one appears to be as it also says Wurlitzer on it which the Seabreeze does not say.

When visiting my maternal grandparents in Kentucky (along with my older sister), I would hear this hymn at the church they'd attend. I just now have my grandmother left on this planet as a tornado hit Mayfield, destroying the house that covered their heads, and killing my grandfather in its wrath. 😢 Sometimes I wonder if the church they attended withstood the tornado or if it was destroyed.

Is this the oldest one? The one from 1914? Well, 12 are known, but if anyone has a Wurlitzer 165, restored or unrestored, plz give it to me ASAP. EVEN IF I LIVE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM.

Seems that Christian songs / hymns are very rare on band organs.

Where is this? I don't think this is listed on Wikipedia.

I read in the comments this appears to be inthe Automatic Musical Instruments collection in California.
@CBF14 жыл бұрын
I don't think that's the name of that collection. Someone who's username went by that commented on this video. Some people may have said that there's 11 165's, but this one is the 12th one.

Is it owned by John Malone, who used to own Organ #3358?
@bartonpercival21473 жыл бұрын
Well Wurlitzer #3124 is at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and was restored in 2009. It was built in 1915 and operated on the Carousel at Whitney’s Playland at the Beach along with 2 Wurlitzer 153’s and an Artizian style D band organ. This is the very first Wurlitzer 165 that I’ve ever seen with lights. Very impressive
