BJJ Fanatics was started by a pair of black belts (Bernardo Faria & Michael Zenga) who feel that nothing is more important than improving your BJJ skills as much as possible in the least amount of time. Their aim was to create a shop for BJJ Students who don’t look at BJJ as a sport - but as a lifestyle.

I love the Keylock grip. Whether you actually finish the Keylock itself or just use it to get extra power for you Shoulder lock, it's a great control hold. Extremely difficult to escape once the hold is locked.

I know it as the fisherman's knot and some have called it the cradle kimura, it can also be applied from full guard 💥💪🏽

The Power Kimura paired withe the Mouse Trap Americana are the best combo for attacking the far arm from top Side Control.

Can you show a way to get this from partner framing your neck? I can picture it, but can you show details to set this up from that position?

Isn't keylock taking the shoulder the other way? Your arms would be palm side up just rotated up (hands toward head vs palm face down with hands toward hip).

No, that's misnamed Topwrist Lock / Americana. This is the real Keylock grip which Melanson is holding.

I've been playing around with this lock and I've been able to get the tap if I can get my hands in the right position against everyone at the gym... Except... against one guy. He's a really strong guy with a big belly and even if he let's me get into the grip it feels like I can't finish it especially if I let him get a palm to palm/Gable grip. For some reason the leverage feels wrong with him and when I start turning it feels like my grips are slipping apart, not his. He says it hurts, but he doesn't feel like anything is about to break so that's why he doesn't tap. Any ideas / solutions / adjustments?

Well if he has the cable grip he might focus on holding that grip. Try attacking his head. If he has enough space with his other arm you can create a triangle with the leg closest to his head and with the other leg into the pocket of his defending arm.

Side triangle like guy above said, head scissors, break grip by rotating the other way out of the gable grip or go for a tarikoplata. The easiest option for you might be the tarikoplata. Side triangles take a fair bit of skill to finish when you’re not used to them and since he’s massive you probably won’t get the kimura that’s still available from there

rip to that guy's shoulder 😂 gotta go for this. Good if you're not the strongest guy and others keep powering out of the regular double wristlock

Why does Neil always have a significantly smaller opponent to demonstrate on? Look at most of his videos. Hes demonstrating on much smaller people.

I've heard that he is a very tall, big guy and the videos don't do him justice. It's likely there isn't anyone bigger readily available.

Yeah i want to see videos of him competing or rolling in class. Not to hate but i just want to see effective use in a real rolling situation.

J.T. Hollingsworth I agree. His moves don't have the same kind of "flow" you'd see on a good BJJ, wrestling, or judo instructional. A lot of it looks forced and muscled. I haven't bought any of his instructionals because of this. If he's a catch wrestler I don't expect to see him in some BJJ comp, but even something like NAGA or a catch wrestling competition would help convince me otherwise.
