@@cloroc oh yea I'm not trying to take anything away from the boxer, I just thought it's worth to mention when you witness a Bodybuilder train or compete in martial arts who is not just trying to brute force his way to victory. The boxer did absouletly amazing fighting the bigger opponent, great defense, more straight counters would have been nice but against an opponent like that you just need to get clipped once and the outcome of the fight changes drastically, so yea he did fantastic just thought it's more uncommon to see a Bodybuilder do good and actually have potential in Martial Arts. :)

I switched from Powerlifting to boxing a couple years ago, and I gotta say; Don't ever be intimidated by muscle, gauge your opponents technique. This boxer was intimidated but truth is there was 100 percent opening to drop the bigger guy easily. Using a tight guard, that short rear hook to the chin was there all day without risking much

@@dunkmajor you don't understand the lack of stamina most power lifters/strongmen/bodybuilders have. His specialty is pure raw strength in short bursts and his training is likely max 5 reps at a time of the big 3 lifts. Powerlifter did pretty well but I think this is also a great example of how muscle mass and weight class make a difference. Despite how many shots Two Tone (the boxer) was able to land accurately and with decent power, it didn't seem like it was enough to cause major damage to the powerlifter. The powerlifter had the advantage in both power and durability. For someone to have their guard down that much and eat as many jabs and straights as he did without so much as a bloody lip or nose is impressive.

Boxer was clearly better but should have made more use of the straight left hand, especially since he was fighting out of a southpaw stance. Every time he threw it, he connected well with it. He kept trying to make his jab, and uppercut work for him and that was causing him more trouble than they were helping.

I love watching and breaking down fights. I absolutely loved this match up! Apex is a serious athlete. Dude probably out lifts everyone at that event. His power was clear and against the average person in a contest of strength he'd out slug and dominate. Sometimes that enough in a fight. I liked how even with his explosiveness Two Tone stayed composed. He couldn't match strength necessarily, but had great defense and real good counter punches. Even though he had to absorb some heavy blows it didn't make him lose pace while simultaneously conserving energy to really take control in the third. @@2DarkHorizon Bench press with a barbell places your shoulders in a fairly fixed plane of motion, and arms internally rotated which isnt the best especially for causing injuries. To overcome this, you can use dumbells for bench presses and rotate your hands 45 degrees. Excellent exercise, then you are doing unilateral exercises with the dumbells so each arm needs to put their own effort to lift the dumbells. And this does away with imbalances between left and right side. Benchpress with a barbell makes it a bilateral movement, so your right arm can compensate for your weaker left arm to get it raised, which trains muscle imbalances which also lead to injury.
