I and my wife got initiated at my 40s but I couldn't doing japa at its minimum until my retirement in 2006, even that till now mechanically. Our Baishnava Guru in the meanwhile passed away . I know the meaning of the bij very recently. At the ripe old age of 78 when repeating Mantra I try to imagine Thakur, as because I am attached with Ramakrishna- Vivekananda Ashram, Howrah , now The Ramakrishna Mission, Kasundia. Is that o.k. Maharaj?

Yes, that's what Ramakrishna Mission devotees and monks do. It's the central practice, i.e., simultaneous meditation and chanting.

If you are from Howarah, then you can go to Belur any days week- even Sundays between 6:30 to 11:30 AM OR 4:00 to 8:30 PM. But before you do that, access contact details of the monks who gives diksha through this link:- belurmath.org. After this, go to "Organization" and then check "tentative programmes". You will get details of the monks- viz., President and Vice President Maharaj and contact details through this link. Just contact them, they will tell you everything, step by step, what to do after that. Note that only Mantra of Sri Ramakrishna is given in Belur Math. He is the chosen ideal or Istha Devata here.

@@vedantaexplained659 Yes.. I believe thakur sriramakrishna is my ishta.. i have bought the books required for diksha.. kathamrita and short biography of thakur maa swamiji... but i did not know that i have to personally contact my gurumaharaj.. thank you..
