16:35 Almost in tears over how beautiful that headsculpt is. Suddenly I'm a kid watching the original cartoon again.

You know, a few years ago, I had an idea where Optimus Prime was kind of an alter ego to Orian Pax, as in no one knew the two were the same person. With this toy, it is totally possible to pull that off.

I can honestly look past the bad truck mode because the engineering is impressive.

Budget MP10

Essentially, this is a retooling of Powermaster Optimus Prime, the trailer becomes the larger body/armor for the cab portion. It's also similar to how Saber transforms and combines with his V-Jet to form his powered-up Star Saber mode.

He makes a 'not so bad' substitute for MP-10 for those on a budget

I bought this because of your review. I love the mix of Orion evolving into Optimus. Also the scale works beside my Voyager Delux line up and my Giga Snarl and Siege Jetfire Commander Class.....I often turn to your reviews to get an understanding of what I want for my personal line up....You and Toys are Russ for G1 love.

An Optimus Prime figure that not only comes with the trailer but lets you do something with it, I likie. Reminds me of the Ultra Magnus figure you reviewed, the one with Minamus.

I just want to tell you Emgo that I really appreciate your humor and the fact that you do a lot of comparisons. I closely followed this figures release, but I did not know that the Orion Pax part was basically a Voyager. That is amazing!!! Also, I'm glad that you compared him to Combiner Wars Megatron! Personally, I like this more than MP-10. It's only slightly less tall than MP-10, but still nearly Masterpiece size regardless, and it comes with Orion Pax. The backpack is weird for sure, but I see that I can just mistransform Orion Pax slightly to cover it, and that makes me more than happy.

This is my favorite Classics Optimus Prime, which is saying something for me, as I've never been a big fan of the classic look. I have this guy and Generations Rodimus and Generations Optimus Primal on my christmas list so I hope i get them. I think they were very creative on how they did these toys and Would be very happy to support more figures like this!

Head sculpt appears to be based off of MP-10's head sculpt.

I feel like the trailer itself looks really cool and IMO, this look for Optimus prime with all the bulk and sliver panelling is fantastic, it’s legitimately my favourite look for him I’ve seen yet

I absolutely love this figure! I don't have the budget to get mp-10. The $500 he's going for now is beyond all comprehensible reason for me. He looks great with repainted blue fists, yellow arrows, new toe paint, painted headlights, new logo, silver windshield trim and a custom matrix mod I did.

Hasbro is improving with these figures.

You could use Orion Pax as an escape pod so if Optimus gets shot his mind would warp into Orion Pax and he would be saved

All these years later, and he's still one of my favorite Primes.

10 months since I first saw this review, and after watching it again, I figured, you could actually store his guns in the back of his Optimus Prime mode, just plug the guns on the exposed Orion Pax hands seen in 17:48, maybe a homage to MP-10 where the folded rifle stores in back, but that's just me :)

19:34: Thanks for the size comparison between two recent Leader Class Primes. I wasn't sure which Prime to choose. The new Prime seems leaner, slightly taller, and less cumbersome. His vehicle mode is sub-par, yes, but my Beast Hunters Prime also has a sub-par truck mode, so I can overlook that. With all that said, Powermaster Prime is still a good choice, too, despite his big amounts of panels and kibble. I still wish that he'd be on shelves at discount stores where I live.

Orion Pax looks amazing, I can overlook the over compressed look in vehicle mode because you get both versions of Prime

hey can anyone explain to me the cards the come with this toy? to my understanding there is a chance to get different cards with the figure, so my question is what one is most sot after, and what is the price of the same figure but with the different card variants thank you for your time.

I want this so much, and it's better than the Siege and Earthrise version, mainly since the trailer plays into the transformation.

I recently got this figure!! Orion Pax/Optimus Prime is really cool and it's a nice hats off to the original G1 Optimus Prime. The only sad part though is the Optimus Prime form his hands are Silver instead of blue...

With a little modification, one can modify this Prime into Ginrai. Just a change in the Orion Pax chestplate and adding the helmet for Super Ginrai in place of the Orion Pax head is a good starting point, and adding some hardpoints for God Bomber in the feet should help as well.

I was five when i dreamed of owning the original g1 transformers opt prime. As i grew up and older that dream faded away. It wasnt priority and i had limited finances with a whole other things that pre occupy and a hobby that was enough to cheer me daily. 28 years later, i saw this because i passed by the toy section of walmart and my goodness does this remind me of that forgotten dream. Its no original g1 opt prime, but the resemblance is very awesome and it really twisted my arm when orion pax came with it too. Tossed it in the shoppig cart A.S.A.P.

I feel like this Orion might be good enough, and the right size, to stand in an mp collection. What do you think? Especially with a custom paint job. Head looks like it could not be improved.

I don't know if anyone's said this or not, but if one does get all twelve of the other Prime Masters, and decide to use some of their Titan's Return figures for it, you could very well make a Functionalist Council, or use the Enigmas that come with the Voyager's.

In regards to story, with Optimus Primal becoming the new Prime in The Power of the Primes cartoon and toyline, would his new full name and title then be Optimal Optimus Primal Prime? Thank you for any assistance.

The full Optimus Prime somehow reminds me of the Prime Titan from the Titanfall April Fools trailer. Considering how a Matrix is also included, I may just have to get this, though I'll probably wait to see what the Tamara version looks like.

Can you do a video on how to safely and correctly remove those stickers you mentioned at the end?

Not a big thing, but I've realized that in truck mode, the Orion Pax arms actually lay down against the Orion Pax chest plate. there are slots on the hands that fit into the tabs that are sticking up and it holds things together a little better. it's pointless in the greater scheme of things and really doesn't help the aesthetics of the truck mode AT ALL. but the slots on his hands were driving me crazy at first as they seemed to have no purpose.

If you use Orion pax’s hand in combined mode you can have either an underslung cannon like g1 megatron or a shoulder mounted cannon like perceptor

I just got it today and It's SUPER COOL. (I got Megatronus (The Fallen) on the card. I guess they use different labels on the cards for each copy of the toy)
