It looks nice, but I will keep using my $15 e-bay china one for now. I'd rather put the money into my Pico savings fund! I guess seeing the voltage is nice, but usually I am going to be scoping Can High and Low most of the time to to see the actual signal, or I just want to temporarily add a module to the buss to program or test. I tend to use a cheap Harbor Freight logic probe as a quick and dirty method to see activity on a CAN when I am working throughout the vehicle. I guess the connectors are okay, but I would want more than 2 adapters, and I'd rather just have banana jacks because everything else I have is banana jacks.

I made a simple breakout box myself some time ago. A small 20volt LCD Display for the voltage, a few female banana plugs, a ODB2 cable extension and a box. 30 minutes work and I had a simple breakout box that would beat the China stuff for just 10 bucks or something and I know what I have. The breakout box is just to measure voltage with my meter / oscilloscope or hunt for CAN Bus trouble. This breakout box costs around 190 Dollars plus tax and shipping, that is a lot.

The LED display is flickering because it's multiplexed. Most 7-segment LED displays are. To save power, and to make the circuitry simpler, only one section of the display is lit up at a time, but the sections are scanned/lighted very quickly so your eye doesn't see it. But your camera does, as you said, because of the scan rate of the sensor or software..

The reason the LEDs are flashing in the camera is because of only one pixel is lit at a time. The micro display rotates lighting among the individual LEDs in display so fast that the human eye sees a steady light. However, when the video camera scans the display it will get repeat scans when pixels are turned off hence the flashing. You can get the same effect like when videoing a air plane propeller. Maybe some day our technology will be tuned to work more like our eyes.

banana jacks in a breakout box is ignorant... it needs to be probe style, for speed and convenience. This one gives both options(not banana, but secure banana like) so, woopy, best of both worlds. ...it does not allow to isolate pin 16, or does it!?

I was in New Jersey some years ago, looking for a truck to support my "mobile mechanic" preferred means of living (Props to "Mighty Joe Young", despite our inability to seal a deal!). I currently use a Kaiser/Jeep XM-811A SEORTM shop van, along with my prodessionally-certified engineer's knowledge, education, training, and tools. I hope that we can "partner-up" for a video. For the record, I used to do a "crazy" radio show, which was, once upon a time, number one in Germany's afternoon drive time (morning drive-time here on the Left Coast of what was, once, America!). Yeah, I'm a pretty funny [old] guy, and I am a fantastic diagnostician. I believe (hope?) that you are the future.

Please do not take this as an insult to your intelligence because you probably see a lot of it. It is astonishing how many people squander upwards of $600 US on special oil and filters in a given year and NEVER do anything to keep their cooling system clean and in about 7 to 10 years (at the most) they effing wreck radiators, ball bearings in water pumps all kinds of gaskets, actual springs from pressure caps that rusted off and floated in the rail and G-d knows what else. Those probes (which look similar to something from John Fluke MFG diagnostic multimeters and other tools) you want are probably are available at Greenbrook Electronics which is now where Eber's furniture was on US 22 West in North Plainfield. They are loaded with all kinds of things. I purchased "RippOff" brand condura holsters that I modified to work well with a military web belt to hold a graphing calculator on the left and a BlackBerry PRIV on the right. I SWEAR I will make videos on these things.

The framing rate of the camera & the refresh rate of the display leds are different...remember movies of the fifties would show wheels on a buckboard say, turning backwards because of the low frame trate of the camera.

Not impressed The small pins and adapters lost me as to really why? I frequently hook up my PICO directly to 3 universal banana jacks to CAN Hi, Low & ground.

Odd to see the use of pin tip jacks. Mostly legacy / military now. Been a long time since I've seen commercial equipment using that. This is probably an adapter that will work. www.pomonaelectronics.com/products/hardware/banana-jack-pin-tip-adapter

Yes, any 2mm will work. I would just like a source to find more of the magnetic ones it came with.
