Thanks for this great presentation! Do we need to refresh every single query or refreshing the appended one will refresh the others automatically?

Just Refresh All, Power Query will handle it for you.

I have been archiving data since 2019, and each month when I add a new sheet to the file, the query refreshes considering all files in the folder which takes long time to complete. How can only refresh to append the new sheet?

Option 1) In PQ filter the list of files to the latest file before you combine them. Option 2) Keep a folder of ‘current’ items, and a folder of ‘non-current’. Use Folder.Contents and not Folder.Files to connect to the ‘current’ folder.

does anyone know a way to append to the right rather than on top of each query? I have to do this at work and i have had to create a macro that then uses the append query result to then stack them to the right instead. but since i am not not good at macros, if something goes wrong i cant fix it and have to do it manually so doing it in power query would solve this issue

In Power Query this is called a merge. If you have a common reference in both Tables this is straight forward. If not, but the records are in the same order, add an Index column to both queries, then merge on the Index number.

@@ExcelOffTheGrid i tried but for instance, one year i may have some data for a specific line but not in the following year so i end up with a mismatch but what i want is to look at variances so i need to see a row even with a nil value. i may need to look at it again as it's been a while since i created this query and ive been using my macro since thanks
