Hey ,thanks It's a holiday here and my PSU decided to die on me this morning. I could tell right away it was from it. Sadly I'm more of a software guy than a hardware guy and I have never changed anything besides a hard drive and 2 RAMs on my PCs so changing the PSU seemed scary for me. This helped a lot especially at the point where I realized I didn't connect the hard drive to the PSU. Your video was very informative saying what everything is for and what is for older models and what is for newer models and I genuinely know now how all of this stuff works. Thanks a bunch.

As a fellow builder the past 25+ years, I feel confident of every plug in a PC. But yesterday I broke my USB 3.0 19 pin cable, I am just glad I did not break my motherboard, i was just jiggle it carefully out. The housing around the pins was stuck in the insane expensive Asus e670x hero mobo. Wish I watched a similar video about signal cables. Thank you for the entertaining and informative video.

Hey! Nice video! But got an extra question. I have the following: PSU: ROG STRIX 1000W Gold Aura Edition GPU: ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 7900 XTX OC The thing is that on the PSU Asus only provided 2x 6+2-pins while my GPU needs 3x 8pins. There is also a 12+4-pins support and Asus provided two cables: 12vhpwr to 12vhpwr and 12vhpwr to 2x 8pins. My question would be, is it 'safe' (As I know it's possible just asking how safe is it) to use 12vhpwr to 2x 8pins and 1x 6+2pins cable to provide power to the GPU?
@ThisBytesForYou
@ThisBytesForYou 9 ай бұрын
your power support brings 2 x 8Pin PCIE cables, and 1 x PCIE cable that splits off to 2 x8Pins. Use both of the 8Pin PCIE straight cables, then use 1 of the 2 ends of the cable that breaks out to 2. So in total, there would be 3 cables, 2 x 8Pin cables and 1 cables that breaks out to 2, but you would only use one. This is a picture of your cables: c1.neweggimages.com/ProductImageCompressAll1280/17-320-038-01.png, you would use cable #4 and #5. PCI-E 1-to-1 Cable x 2 (700mm) and PCIe-E 1-to-2 Cable x 1 (700mm)

Hello and great video! I have an alienware r13 and it came with a non modular 750w psu. The power connector for the gpu is a daisy chained 6 and 8 pin connector cable where the 8 pin is being used for the oem nvidia 3060ti. I purchased an aftermarket gigabyte gtx 3070ti and it did not come with a power corrector but requires 2 × 8 pin connection. My question is do you feel it safe for me to buy an 8 pin to 2 x 8 pin pcie adapter to make it work? Or am i out of luck? I'm new to this and learning on the fly so really interested in your thoughts. Thank you!

Thanks my friend, so the recommended PSU for that is 750Watts, so you are good, and thats usually for more than it needs, and an entire system but you want to daisy chain an 8Pin to spin off to 2 x 8Pins, ... splitting the power of 150Watts, into 2, 75Watts per connector, I dont recommend it. Do you have the manufacturer and model number of that psu?

Never pigtail if you can avoid it, use straight connections from your power supply. Your motherboard does not need both Pcie connections, which is not PCIe it's EPS, it only requires one. 2 would be if you are hardcore overcooking.

I had to check your channel again. Because certain notifications are not coming to me. Iggy if you would please. ? When somebody sends you an email, is it possible for them to retract it ? In other words. Deleted on my end after I receive it ? The reason I ask is because. I noticed someone I know had sent me an email. I chose not to look at it on my computer. I figured I would check it on my phone a few minutes later. When I went to my phone I noticed it was not there. I thought to myself this is crazy I know I saw it on my computer. So I went back to my computer to check it and it was gone. What the heck. That's why I ask a true genius like you. Thanks. Keith

You always need the 8pin EPS connection and 24pin , there is no ifs on that. Also, there is EPS and there is PCIE, you cant share the cable, they are physically different. What is the manufacturer and model number of your power supply, graphics card and motherboard.

On the site for your power supply, it shows the example you are looking for, you have 4 connectors all together and in your case, the connection to the power supply is the same for all 4, but the ends, to the motherboard/graphics card are different. So plug 2 8Pin PCIE cables to the graphics card, and 1 or both of the 8Pin EPS connections to the 8Pins EPS connections near your cpu: storage-asset.msi.com/global/picture/image/feature/power/MPG/A1000G-pcie5/gpu02.jpg This image came from this site: www.msi.com/Power-Supply/MPG-A850G-PCIE5

sorry my friend that power supply alone tells me the card won't work, the sapphire pulse requires a system with a 500Watt power supply. your system does not have enough power, don't worry about adapters, worry about getting a new power supply. Provide the measurements for the height, width and depth of the power supply and I will see if you can get an upgrade.

@@davidrussell8795 yeah, when SATA first came out, of course Molex was king, so HDD manufactures as you can imagine had MILLIONS of these chassis' laying around, so they added the SATA connection to save money and resources, after a period of time, the dual interface died off since the resources depleted. I was a product development engineer with Alienware when SATA was released, so I had worked with thousands, maybe millions of them. Right, that's why there are stand offs on a case, to separate the motherboard from the chassis, to not fry it.
