"Powerchain" may sound scary but it is not as scary as it sounds. When there is space, a powerchain is used. It is an elastic tie that goes around the brackets where it will close the space.

The moment I went home from the dentist after they put powerchains, that's when IMMENSE pain started. It lasted for about 2-3 days. it hurts SO badly I couldn't even chew normally like I used to

Those things hurt like hell every single time you get a new 1 every month. I would always dread my monthly orthodontist appointments because of this. Sad thing is, I'm probably getting them again this time around. 2/8/2020 update: got them on 5 of my top teeth, and yes, it hurt like hell for 2 days straight.

Power chains are the worst. I had to get them on my front four top teeth and I nearly pulled them off and I almost cried. I don’t cry out of pain a lot. Yesterday I had to get them on all of my teeth and I’m in PAIN

After a couple of months of not going to my appointment due to covid, when I finally got back, I was suddenly given power chain and they hurt so bad. I was blessed with not feeling pain after every tightening appointment, so that was an eye opening moment for me. Hurts for 3 days and it was hard and it hurts to eat anything. Even bread. But the one that was a pain in my *$$ were definitely spacers. Had them on for a week and those whole week they hurt. It was also hard to eat cos I couldnt bite down my food as the spacers stopped my jaws more meeting each other.

nobody duday I have underbite too! So I had it exactly how you will. So first you'll get your braces on, which can hurt for the first bit when you get it on. Than you will get that square shaped elastic, which can be sore and make you chew weird while it's in but that will wear off. Then you'll probably have your braces on for a little bit more, and then they'll take them off! I suggest having tylanol in the house. Take it for pain, and right before appointments. Pain usually lasts about 1-2 days!

I've been sucking on my finger ever since I was a child and today my teeth are not too bad. I have the tiniest gap in my front teeth and an overbite that makes me uncomfortable while talking. I still don't know why my parents won't get me braces and I can't ask because I'm too afraid to. I hope that I will have normal teeth soon. When I grow up I'll have to probably pay for them myself -,-

I don't think it was growing. They just either layered on the bonding and shaped it like a tooth or put a fake tooth over the glue.

Denis Mustafa it misaligned my teeth unnaturally so they move around and I grind them to try to move them back into place subconsciously. That happens to almost everyone that has had braces. You get terrible bruxism following orthodontic procedures.

I have gap 2mm , 1mm gaps between my front teeths.I didn't have gap between teeth before braces.it was created after wearing braces. Treatment was delayed more than 1 year due to lockdown. Due to job, I m moving to different country and want to close the gap in 1 month.doctor said they can be closed in 1 month with powerchain. Already 2 weeks passed with powerchain. But no improvement at all. I still have 3 ugly gaps in front teeths. :(

Awww, i have a gap between my two front teeth and i guess i'll have to use a power chain... 😕 Im sad bc i thought i was gonna get the normal metal wire 😔😔

Simply Gaby you do still get a wire, the power chains go over the wire like normal elastics. I got a power chain today on my front four teeth and you still have the wire although it gets kinda covered. Most people with braces get a power chain at some point though

My gap closed just with a normal braces process. Idk if I’m getting powerchains yet but my gap closed without them

second day of having braces and i also have a gap between my front teeth... didn't get a power chain though
