Looking to build a powerful, effortless, pain free golf swing? If so, you need to understand it. That's what this golf tip is all about. Once you understand it, you're on your way to learning how to do it. Whether you are a senior golfer looking for more power, you are not a young strong person or you are just sick of playing in pain, this swing is for you.
So why would you want a powerful, effortless, pain free golf swing? A better questions is, why wouldn't you? This is a swing for a lifetime which means that you can hit the ball long and straight, effortlessly, for ever.
The problem is the great majority of players are swinging as hard as the can at the ball. So this effortless swing means you have to do the opposite. Instead of hitting, a powerful, effortless, pain free golf swing has you not trying to hit anything at all. Instead, the ball gets in the way of the club as you swing.
If you've always wanted to learn a powerful, effortless, pain free golf swing you need to understand how this swing will give you the power. It'll be new and different but once you get it you'll be glad you did.

THIS MAN IS TEACHING THE TRUTH!! I’ve been watching him for around a week and a half now, and once you get the double wrist hinge and use your body for momentum, you will be ripping the cover off the ball with the driver ... I’m using a 1/5 of the strength I was using before and carrying 300 ALL DAY... DONT shrug this guy off he will change your game!!!

You're a wonderful teacher, Paul. I'm 56 years old and have been playing golf in earnest for only about 8 or 9 years. I discovered you a couple of weeks ago and have been absorbing your lessons and incrementally incorporating them into my swing. Overcoming nearly a decade of bad swing habits is not a quick process but I can definitely see and feel the difference in the results. But most importantly, your lessons are getting me to think differently about how to swing. I no longer feel as if the game is a hopeless cycle of an occasional series of lucky shots (without a clue as to why) and interminable bad golf. For the first time I truly understand it. I would also like to add that after hitting a bucket at the range, the next day my back doesn't feel as if I had been swinging a sledge hammer. Thank you, Paul. I'm truly grateful you've posted these lessons and will watch more, and recommend you to others, as my improvement progresses.

Thanks so much. So glad you found me. It takes work for sure because you need to unlearn hitting with the arms. There are new feelings you need to get used to and understanding how you can still get power without hitting. Then trusting this is going to work even better than before. You are seeing it and you are on your way so please keep at it. Thanks for your promo to others. I really want to get everyone to stop hitting with the arms so any help you can give is a big help. Let's change the golfing world.

Paul, I started at the beginning of this year with your Swing Machine Golf. My scores started at rounds in the low & upper 80’s, and then a 8th round of 92. My last & 9th round of the year was a 74, 4 over par! As you stated in your chapter, Taking It To The Course, “I would expect your scores to start dropping in round nine.”

You do a great job explaining what one has to do for it to work. Your story ( and lesson) on how you discovered this at 14 or 15 at the first hole where you played is intriguing. Glad you like the tips. I appreciate it. The difference between me and others is that I have literally tried everything in the swing over the years and still do experiment with other theories. I want to learn what is out there and how people would go about trying it as well as what happens when you do certain moves in the swing. Kind of fun but super frustrating at times. I don't want people to go through what I went through plus I know people don't practice. So I take this into consideration as I explain it. Simple is the key for sure. Certainly look me up if you make it to town.

Paul, i first watched your videos about a year ago, i totally understand the concept, but its taken a lot of practice and time to actually have the confidence to take it to the golf course. When i first started i was a hip bump and slide forwards towards the target to start the downswing which relied on timing but was making my back sore and stiff, plus i had a very strong grip, when i first tried i was blocking or hooking badly, slowly i weakened my grip until i got a consistent ball flight and pattern, 1000s of balls later and lots of practice swings, hold club and leave at top, move belt buckle arms follow, I'm confident and ready to take the body swing to the course this week

Finally had a Eureka moment with this concept. Completely counterintuitive and as you say against human nature but I gave it a shot and it has improved consistency of my shots out of this world. I agree with the feeling that the clubhead is super heavy. When I feel this, it can be used as a gague to know I am not using me arms. I struggled to get my head around how loose my grip should be. With your concept i only use as little force as possible. Starting with not enough force to move the head, then slowly finding the minimum force possible from there. The heavy clubhead only works when I allow my body to dictate the speed of my arms- if I cheat and use my arms I lose the timing on the mass (which is going towards to furthest point) being at the clubface at impact. This feels like the “weight” is halfway up the club as opposed to the clubhead. When my body dictates the speed of my arms it feels amazingly effortless yet it has improved my distance and accuracy. Love your videos and teaching style.

Glad you tried it. It can be tricky for some people. Like you did, they just need to try it but not for 3 balls. You keep doing it until you hit some good ones. Then after you hit enough good ones that should convince you do swing this way forever. Be careful not to let go of the club. Not sure if you saw this one: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kJ57ZqqU2dHeZ3U.html Glad you are feeling the weight. This is a great indication if you are using your arms or not. Sounds like you are on track. This is priceless advice. Ive been playing on and off for 30 years and recently got back into playing at age 45. Went to the driving range the other day and tried to analyze my swing and thought "am I shifting my hips before my arms come down?" I consciously forced my hips to shift forward on the down swing and it felt very awkward... then I realized that I've never done that before. It took about 15 balls to to get it down, but when I did, I couldn't believe how much better I was hitting the ball , and it was effortlessly going much further, at least 30 yards. I've always had a powerful swing and have always been able to put the ball over 270 but this knowledge was a game changer. I will be in the 300s consistently before too long.
@paulwilsongolf
@paulwilsongolf 3 жыл бұрын
Glad you are getting the hips moving. Just watch your ball as you do it. It you push it you are shifting too much. If you are pulling it shift a little more. The key is getting them moving before the club starts down. Get this and 300 is doable.

@@paulwilsongolf crazy too because when I was in my 20s I was driving 280 pretty solid, and I figured now in my 40s I could never get back to that let alone surpass that. I didn't seem to be doing anything wrong with the hip shift. I was placing them very straight and hitting them more solid than ever before. I've watched 2 if your videos and I cant believe the difference it has already made. I don't know why all golf teachers aren't following what your teaching.
@paulwilsongolf
@paulwilsongolf 3 жыл бұрын
Glad you are doing well. It's the looseness that is the big key if you are moving your body okay. Without being loose you won't get the speed Now into the future don't think you cannot kill it. You don't have to be strong to be loose! Why doesn't everyone teach it? because they are golf teachers. Everyone has their own opinion of the swing. I know my audience. I typically teach older average players. Other teachers want to teach pros or wanna be pros. I gave up on all that. To me teaching pros is boring. I want the worst swing and make them look like a pro. That is what does it for me. Or get someone who hits it nowhere to hit the longest shots of their life. Now, that's cool. Also, I want it to be fast and simple. Others want to be all technical and keep you coming back. I want you to go away because you know how to do it on your own (isn't that the whole point).

Mr. Wilson is a fantastic teacher. The loose movement is crucial, not that easily always to duplicate. I still have a slight chicken wing on my drives, which do not at all have when I do a practice swing. The practice swings are near perfect, but for some reason, I do not duplicate them when swinging to hit the ball. I will arrive there yet! I hit a few drives at the practice range yesterday. I hit several perfectly. My best guess is that they were about 250 yards each. Without the slight chicken-wing and with new balls, perhaps I can attain 270 yards are so with a perfect swing. Swings with my irons are close to perfect, rarely even a slight chicken wing, and each time taking a divot after hitting the ball. No feeling when ball hit, so I watch the ball sail as far as it can go with the given club. Still uncertain about distance. I hit pitching and 6 iron yesterday. My best guess is maybe 110 to 115 yards with wedge, possibly further. 6 iron hard to tell, perhaps 160 to 165 years when hit perfectly.

@@paulwilsongolf Thanks for the information Mr Wilson. I hit some today, trying to stay as loose as possible. I hit some wedges, then driver then some eight irons. Driver still nowhere near consistent enough. I hit a few perfect drives. Still not sure of distance, but best guess is 250 yards with decent quality range balls. The end of range is about 270 yards. I do not reach that, but so far as I can tell, when I hit a drive perfectly now, it seems that I am within 20 yards of the end of the range. Hard to determine exactly. I want to repeat that your videos. amongst the thousands of excellent instructional videos out there are the best in my opinion. By the way, this picture is me at probably around 26 years old. I am now 70! Still physically fit and still believe that I am 26 years old, but I am not. I always record myself. You can see recent swings. You will see not perfect. Still some of the chicken wing. So glad you like my videos. I appreciate the support. At 70 you are doing great. Swing looks good. Need to work on your grip. Right now the left is too much in the fingers. I want it across your palm to secure it. Right hand is too strong and you do not have the V. This is important. With the V the club will wiggle at the top. You need to follow my neutral grip tip precisely. Here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oLeKf9Npx6yRh6s.html Right elbow need to tuck at the top. It is flying right now. Yes, chicken wing is there. Need to loosen the hinge. The hinge drill I sent you will do that but you need to do it with the new grip. Into the future - need more hip rotation through impact for it to go any longer.

It was the AHA moment when I finally removed all tension in my wrist and felt the club moving on its own - I still have to make a conscience effort though to keep my wrist and hands loose so this can happen naturally. Thanks for another great tip, Paul. I have been wondering for a while whether you create the hinge in the backswing by "manually" hinging your wrists (by use of muscle if you will), or do you let the momentum from your coiling body in the backswing combined with your loose wrists to create the hinge in the backswing. I seem to be able to do both, but which one is better? I have only been doing it in my living room so don´t know what works best.

You and 90% of all other golfers are tight so yes, you are manually hinging to the top until the wrists are unlocked and you know the position. At this point, it will set on its own through momentum. For me, I am looking for that spot where it sets. Once set, I immediately fire the lower to hit the shot.

This is amazing. I came across your video two days ago. I kept struggling with Good shot good shot... Fat shot fat shot thin shot.... After watching your videos and practicing in the house I went out to the driving range and started taking divots "after the ball". Is it possible to take to large a divot after the ball. I get great clean flight and chunks of grass with my irons after my shot (and Im hitting the sweet spot instead of the toe). I kind of feel bad for the maintenance crew. My Drives have always been very straight in the past, about 80% of the time down the fairway but the ball would never carry more than 200 yards or so. Using your effortless swing technique the range balls are ripping, but I seem to keep getting a fade now. From what I understand its possible my wrists arent "loose enough" or my club face isnt setup square or getting square coming through the ball. Now for the great part. Im 50 years old. I hit 6 Large buckets of balls the last 2 days. In the past if I did that my back would be sore as h$ll and my arms like noodles. But not this time. Now what's sore Is my gluts and legs but I feel like I could hit golfballs all day long now. I know I have a ways to go but after 20 years of playing the wrong way I believe it will only take a couple weeks to have this effortless swing down. Thank you!

Paul I hate to keep bothering you and I’m sure being in Las Vegas you’re not even up yet, but in North Carolina we are. The way you teach does make a lot of sense to me and I know that what I’m gonna say goes against all the rules LOL, but there are those out there where even if you have a faulty set up and swing the iron style you use can make or break your game, I’m one of those. If the club does not suit my eyes I just can’t hit it. iPhone to set up the ping blueprint irons and I absolutely hate those pure but I wanted something a little bit more for distance so I currently play the Z5 85 iron. That said, is it my imagination or does Keegan Bradley Play with a club that is absolutely too short for him but it makes him maintain his spine angle because they’re so short with a shorter set of irons hurt my game or I would have to get down like that. Thank you any criticisms or comments is excepted I’m very easy thank you, but I’m not cheap LOL

I tell people when picking a driver there are many factors. One of them is it has to look great to you. If you are on the fence about it that is a negative. You want no negatives. Then of course, loft, length, shaft etc etc. Not srue about Keegan. Haven't seen him hit one in a while. Weird swing he has.

After watching your vids I have been hitting the driver much better, still some slices in there, but overall better... Irons were amazing.. not sure how I am hitting irons better than the driver, but ill take it. I have a question: when I set up with a driver, do I just let it lay naturally on the grass as far as face angle or should I be making sure the driver face is angled square? I notice that if I lay the driver head on the ground there is a slight angle and it is not perfectly square facing the ball.
@paulwilsongolf
@paulwilsongolf 3 жыл бұрын
The driver will come. Keep in mind it's longer and you want to hit it hard. I would really be working on loosening the wrists first and eliminating slice spin. Once you can do that it's working so you can then switch to adding body as the power source.

You need to do a minimum of 25 practice swing per day. If so, this will lead to doing 100-200 because you will become addicted to doing practice swings. I would go 2 months. I took at student from 95 to 75 in 2 months he never hit one ball. This was on a pro course. I literally gave him a 10min lesson per week to show him what to work on. You can do it. No ball means no distraction of hitting the ball. So you can make the changes. Then you add the ball.

Would a hinge not hinge and rehinge 100% of the time if it was loose? Yes, it would. So once you get the arm unit working you are attaching this to your body rotation. I’ve done so much research on this and I’m finally beginning to understand this and towards the end of this season I really felt it clicking in. There are days when it works really well and others when my hands and arms are racing in front of my body producing serious pulls. The one thing I think is hard to understand for me is the turning off the arms part. What I’ve decided to do is not slow down my arms so much but increase the speed with which I turn my hips. When I do this well, I produce so much more speed which results in a lot more distance amd what looks like a super smooth swing. What I’m working on now is a feeling for having my hips open hard so that they’re about 45° (or so) open. Should I be focusing on the back hip coming around or the front hip opening? These are the things I’m experimenting with now. Either way, what Paul explains here is the ABSOLUTE key to getting more power without really even trying. The way I understood this was to compare it to throwing a baseball. If a Shortstop wants a powerful throw to first, he/she has to use their legs and hips. If it’s just arms, it doesn’t work as well. That made it click for me. What might make that idea weird for some is that the ball isn’t moving in our sport. I like to think that I’m “throwing” the club at the ball.

This is a good downswing trigger. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iMqgm9eZqLedhoE.html just have to be careful. Fire too hard you will hit pushes and push fades. If so, you need to go back to hinging and rehinging to loose up the wrists. I would gradually speed up using this trigger.

@paulwilsongolf

Exactly. Then they are scratching their head. Got to think there is timing between the release and body rotation. If you only speed up one then the other is not timed. HINT: Hook it first. 10 in a row. Now the release is too fast. Now you can switch to body to drive it harder until the ball is dead straight. If you blow it right go back to hooking it again and start over. I just gave it all to you so let it sink in.

Been there about a million times. Here is what to do if you lose your swing: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q92kg5py3da4ZWg.html Driver - slicing and topping - swinging too hard. low left - good - you are releasing the club. why not hit every shot low left. Then you know where it's going before you hit it plus you are always releasing the club. Once you can do that consistently you work on body rotation to straighten it out. Hybrid - you only have one swing. Quit trying to do a different swing with hybrids. Irons - So tee up your irons as you work on movements and positions I am teaching. Get the feeling of the legs powering the swing not the arms. For me, it is crystal clear. As you get better at this slowly move up to driver and hit 50% drivers doing the same move. Right now you are trying to hammer driver as hard as you can yet you are not good at it. Chipping - just like putting. ball back with hands ahead putting stroke. Simple. You change clubs to make the ball roll more or less. Right now you are using one club to chip with which is not what you should be doing. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jKuChcuGkrDeZ5s.html Work on your grip and setup first. Then hinge and rehinge. Get this. Then once you are not slicing it you add body. It really is that simple. The tips are here on the channel for you to build a great swing. I have tried this, but I obviously have a different physical construction (by the grace of God perhaps). As much as I try your hip movement, the BEST I can do is to get my belt buckle to face 45 degrees SHORT of the target. I simply cannot do more in the legs or hips (even ignoring the arms movement). So what happens? A HORRIBLE duck hook to the left!! So (with apologies), this is not a fix for all, but limited to those blessed with great hip mobility only. My guess is about half of the population you preach to.
