Looks good, nice work 👍🏻, what about an option of instead of the red line going across (in daylight - lights off) having it tinted so it gives the appearance of the factory look until the lights are on (Or when braking, if connected) ?

Hi Guys Really helpful video just fitted this light, as well as rear light upgrade and mirror dynamics, looks really good 👍😁 Just 1 thing, when I was following the wiring of this I got confused at first with where the positive and negative were going as mine looked slightly different, turns out the box the plugs are in where you wire to on yours Is upside-down, thought I'd better mention incase people accidentally wire to wrong wires. Hope this makes sense 😅 Thanks for this though looks brilliant really happy 😊

Just fitted this . Looks great. I found the choc blocks to not do the job properly. So soldered the wires white and black wires to the two black wires . Wrapped in insulation tape. Really a two hour job if you take your time and think it through. Threading through the drilled hole is fiddly but I found by tapeing all wires together and pushing through with end of a coat hanger helped to feed the wires through. Will fit brake light this weekend

I have bought all my upgrades from you guys for my 2014 Evoque. I have the Facelift Rear Lights - 'Black Edition. If you were to get a smoked edition of this light for my Evoque, it would compliment those lights no end. I too would buy in a heartbeat !

Great clips and it looks good but it's just a shame the red part of the light bar isn't clear to blend in with the rear light clusters. Maybe you could ask the manufacturer if they could do a clear light bar with red led's.

Great job! Power down sequence is nice. Need this for my murdered out L405 LWB though...would love an ETA? If released I'd just wrap it in VViViD Air Tint Smoke Tail light / Headlight Film to give it a smoked look! Have this stuff on my RR already, works great on smoking headlights and tail lights plus it's MOT friendly!👌

Fitted mine today. Looks brilliant and I think also looks better with the pre-facelift rear lights. Once I drilled the hole, I found it easier to feed the cable towards the edge of the boot lid. At 9:07 in the video, I fed it towards the large hole to the right of the shown connectors, and then ran it along the black loom. I'll email you a picture Simon.

I would love to do this mod, but the intrusion into the rear camera image is a no-no. Maybe do a version with a small cutout for the camera? Or can we change the camera as well to the version that doesn't have the intrusion?

Hi, I have a L405 and would be interested if you developed a light bar for this. BTW I have just fitted a 32” LED light bar behind the grill of my L405. It’s stealthy and my god does it throw out some light! Easy to fit as LR have helpfully put everything in place you need to get the job done.

After watching this video I brought this item, installed it and it looks great, but I was wondering if you have a video that shows us how to connect it to the break light? Thanks 👍

Cracking new item and will be on my shopping list when I change to a Sport. Think it’s already been suggested, but a smoked version would be really good so the red light only shows when turned on. By any chance is the brake light animated as well???? 👍🏻👍🏻

Bought and fitted - looks superb! Agree that smoked would be cool but if you put red accents like side grill bars, this looks awesome. Defo think smoked rear light set is next on the list. too. 2014 L494. Top part of the reversing camera is obscured by the spoiler effect. Appears to be enough visibility to see things directly behind still. Fitting was straightforward-ish. 2 hard bits: (a) feeding the wires through. I drilled an 8mm hole - go with the recommended 10mm. Grommet fitted ok after a bit of wangling. Also could not get through to the space on the video. However, plenty of wire to feed everything to right and circle back (can take a photo of needed). Mini cable ties a god send; (b) tail light connection (green wire): definitely needs care per video. With mine it didn’t work first time but a bit of wangling the wire in the scotch bloc and it made a connection. From there all good now. [will update again once driven at night]

Looks great but as others have said would be cool if it was smoked or invisible, maybe make the whole outer edge the same material so you cant tell there is a light behind, it possible to make it flush like the OEM bar and no have the spolier effect using that method? For the brake light connection would it be possible to add in a wireless on off sender to one of the LED rear light clusters, and receiver on the bar to trigger when the brake light is on to save having to get to the LED brake light in the Roof Spolier? Also do the LED's get brighter when breaking if both features are selected

Nice bit of kit Simon, looks like it could be a factory accessory. I think it looks great, may not be for everyone, but that’s what choice and free will are all about. If you’re going to do a vid on a rear dashcam install at some point it may be worth filming at the same time as the red-wire remaining on this job, because the cable follows the same route through that near-side tailgate corrugated rubber. Just a thought, wink wink! 👍

Rather than having to drill a hole in the tail gate for the wires to go through, you could of sacrificed one of the clip points and repurposed it as the hole for the wires. If that idea would have made the new part not fit as tight, maybe try keeping the clip point but halving its size so it only takes up half the hole, therefore the other half of the hole could be used as the wire pass through. In my short time of tinkering with cars, I’ve noticed a much bigger market for plug and play parts rather than having to modify the original to make the new part fit. I know the wiring is still a splice together task, but that’s a lot more of a reversible process than having to drill a new hole in the tailgate. I might be very wrong in my opinion, to which I say... ignore me and keep up the good work. All the best chaps.
