If the fixing plate had a captive nut on it then the box could be affixed to it only from the inside using the supplied plastic hand wheel bolts. No way it can be undone without gaining access to the box. A round head blank pin (drilled) and R clip could also hold it without the ability to unbolt it, may even be a quicker fixing. Just installed the box with the brackets in a Land Rover Defenser P400 soft hybrid. It’s a tight fit but works like a charm!

A really good addition the only problem I would address is that the fixing bolts intrude into the box, any items in the box could be damaged by the intruding bolts, although I think my Holland & Holland Royal would be in the inner security box I would not want the bolts that way round, but they could be inserted from the inside with round headed bolts. My Dad had drive a RR (L405) down from Leeds to Cornwall for a client who was going shooting about 3 months ago. It had full Gun Safes/ Boxes in the rear (no guns as my Dad no longer has a Fire Arms Licence which he did when he was in the Met) so they were carried in the helicopter by the client. My Dad said the L405 was absolutely covered in mud and dirty and hadn't had a wash a long while. Have a couple pictures but obviously can't upload on here.

Excellent idea -BUT - wasn't the original idea of the box that it could easily be removed and carried around? That's why the knurled bolts were inside the box so it could not be removed without first unlocking the box. So - would it not be a better idea to include nuts permanently welded to the underside of your brackets, so the box can just be bolted in from the top as originally designed? Then you can remove the box if you want to carry your guns away from the car to the clay pigeon shoot area (no animals killed in my description 😉). I do hope you had a great Christmas and PF 2023.
