Week 7 day 2 of this series documenting my powerlifting training for 9 weeks up to a competition. Today was the bench press, max weighted Chin Up and some more ranting.

Great vid and great thoughts! Health and safety in the gym is anabolic; if you can avoid getting injured your growth will be so much better. I recently hurt my neck (not in the gym) and that massively affected my mental health and positivity too. It's been four weeks and I'm still recovering, so now see me train my neck from here on.

Those loading pins are useful for more than just grip training, you can load them up with a bunch of plates and make yourself a makeshift keg to carry around or to throw

​@@HadynWisemanbodystronguk is the only UK streetlifting federation. Their national comp is usually around May / June time, if it's like last year you can submit an online qualification instead of doing the regional qualifier.

I agreee what you said about the combo rack and safety. But I beleive the Rogue combo rack might be the only one safe enough to squat solo? Its spotting arms are the same as yours i think...

If so then that's fine, normally they have little gaps the bar can slip through though and aren't very sturdy

Nvm I was quite fine. Pretty decent weight for someone who doesn't really train weighed chins tho. Specially considering those 30kg moved super fast and there was no way that was a max.

Street-lifting overall winner is decided by total across MU+PU+DIP+SQ. Some comps also have individual awards for each category.

I think this is where some controversy is in the community (how to calculate the winner). I think current general consensus is halve the squat and double the MU weight for the ttl.

​@@TysonE I think a points per kg system for each exercise would be cool and possibly better for the sport, but I also like the fact that the squat can make up a large part of the total as it separates the "street-lifter" and the "calisthenics athlete" and other strength sports like Oly Lifting and powerlifting have overall combined total's which may make it seem more legit on a world stage. Either way really cool strength sport that deserves more eyes.

I've been trying to convince them for months now to switch to front-rack pistol squat instead. National-level Powerlifters CAN beat National-level calisthenics athletes quite easily with a huge squat. What good is a +40kg muscle up when the dude that doesn't even train them has 100kg more on his squat? Weighted pistol is more in line with the calisthenics world, it would be a unique test for streetlifting, and the weight discrepancies would be much smaller between athletes - meaning the smaller lifts can actually matter.
