Today, I bought and installed a PowerMadd Adjustable Handlebar Riser for my 2021 Arctic Cat Riot 8000.
I like the height of the stock riser for standup riding, but it's a little high for sitting down while trail riding. My first thought was to buy one or two standard risers of varying length to see what I liked. But, this limits my ability to switch back and forth.
When I discovered that PowerMadd sells an adjustable riser, I decided that might be the ticket. It's quite a bit more money - almost triple the cost of a single riser. But, the ability to adjust on the fly and to any length I want was very appealing. The one I bought extends from 4 to 6 inches, which covers the stock length of 5.5 inches. They do make one that's longer, but I'm not expecting to need that for my application.
I have a couple of concerns:
1 - There's no place to zip tie cables to the riser, like there is on the stock riser. It would be nice to secure my brake line and electrical cables better, but maybe because of the adjustability that wouldn't work out anyway.
2 - If I open up the quick release lever, there's a lot of play between the two riser sections. While the lever effectively "squishes" them together and removes the slop, this seems like tolerances should be tighter. I'm not sure if this will be a wear point over time, will keep an eye on it.
