Awesome. The one thing I may not have covered in this review, but I cover in my Powertec Vs Titan Leg Ext / Curl video is the opposite end of the bench will raise up off the floor if you’re doing heavy leg extensions if the bench is not connected to the rack, smith machine, or Levergym.

Thaaaaaaat's what that hook is for!!!! My leg attachment is still in the box and I'm sure it would have become obvious..but couldn't find it in the assembly instructions at all. Same with the iso pin holder on the back of the upright...no mention of it anywhere, when I was assembling my Levergym I thought that I had missed a step in the assembly of the cable lever.

Thanks for the excellent and very thorough review. I have an old grey Powertec FID bench and was wondering whether this attachment would fit. Looks like it would, however I’m 6’2 so my main concern is you cannot slide the seat back on the old bench - so my knees maybe too far forward over the rollers. Also no handles on the old bench - so I may have to save up for a new bench aswell.
@HomeGymHacksandReviews
@HomeGymHacksandReviews 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I had one of those old grey ones. The new attachments should fit. The other option would be to keep the seat flat and perform the leg ext without back support. With your height, you will probably need to elevate the front feet of the bench.

Enjoyed the video. The leg extension/leg curl works well for myself. My only complaint is the bolt and nut at the top that could dig into you inner thigh if you don't avoid it. My younger kids have issues with the leg curls as its really designed for an adult. I would say it gets awkward for those shorter than 5 ft even. They also put down extra padding at their knees for leg curls as they are pretty skinny, Overall, it is built well though, will not bend with light or medium loads.
@HomeGymHacksandReviews

Thank you! I am happy to hear it works for you. Luckily, I’ve never had an issue with the bolt coming close to my inner thighs. Good to hear it meets your expectations!

WOW!! Excellent review. I just bought this to replace a Hoist FID bench. Its N ok bench but, i have a couple of problems. One the latch doesnt reach, so i cant lock the leg extension in place and anything above 50lbs tilts the bench forward. Oh and the handles couldve been positioned under the seat rather than protruding 4" out from the seat.
@HomeGymHacksandReviews
@HomeGymHacksandReviews 9 ай бұрын
Thank you! All of your critiques are spot on. The latch only connects in one position. The bench can connect into the Levergym, Smith Machine, and / or Power Rack which will eliminate that tipping. It’s extra work, but you could weigh down the opposite end of the bench with a couple heavy dumbbells. I agree, the handles can get in the way. Back when I used the bench for dumbbell and barbell work, I removed the handles. However, now that mainly use the bench for attachments, I really like the handles for heavy leg extensions (the Ironmaster bench doesn’t have handles and handles are definitely appropriated).

Im so excited my ironax lever gym just finally released this piece this week im going to buy it....couple questions tho...the leg curl... i know it doesnt look smooth when just watching but does it really feel good? You get good squeeze contractions all the way up? And have you tried taking out the piece so you can do standing up leg curl and for leg extensions can you do the inner middle and outer foot position for leg extensions thanks!!! 🤜
@HomeGymHacksandReviews
@HomeGymHacksandReviews 2 жыл бұрын
I don’t have any complaints. If I was over 6’, I’d likely have to elevate the bench to get a full ROM, but I think both the leg curl and leg ext are smooth and effective. I have not removed the piece for a standing leg curl at this point. I’ve got the Levergym lower pulley for that exercise if I cycle it back in. Yes, the roller pads are big enough so I can switch my foot position. I think you’ll be happy. I’ve had at least 3 of these attachments over the years, and it has always served me well.

Try adjusting the post higher or lower and adjusting the seat higher or lower. Also, either slide back farther or scoot closer to the front of the bench. If none of those work, maybe add a small pillow over the roller pads.

When hamstring curling it looks to me that you can squeeze it as much as possibile and gravity still pull the exstension back, and so one can actually use force to go all the way. Atm my own bench and leg ext. Wont do that, but it kinda tilt forward at a certain degree of the motion, but it realy looks like the powertec have that solved. I hope i am clear enough in my question. Thanks for great videos.
@HomeGymHacksandReviews

Thanks so much! Yes, the Powertec has resistance pretty consistently throughout the entire range of motion. I have / had some machines where there is a portion of the repetition where there is no or little resistance. While not as good as a cable machine, it’s great for an attachment.

@@TN-hv5cf it’s a touch question to answer because each has features I like. The Powertec Leg Ext - handles, back support, bulkier padding. Strictly for leg ext. / leg curl only, I would go with the Titan Fitness Seated Leg Curl / Leg Ext. @HomeGymHacksandReviews
@HomeGymHacksandReviews 2 ай бұрын
There isn’t a complete absence of resistance like there is on the Titan Seated Leg Ext / Leg Curl (I showed a hack that improves the Titan). I’ve added bands and connected the Powertec to a cable, and it’s really more trouble than what it’s worth because I think both exercises offer a pretty good resistance profile for being plate loaded. Of course, the first inch or two and the last inch or two aren’t as challenging as the rest of the movement. There’s also the option to elevate the front feet slightly or added additional padding behind the rollers to improve the resistance profile.

If you are super tall, the Ironmaster may be the better option. Otherwise, my vote goes to Powertec bc of the stainless steel weight horn, back support of the bench when doing leg extensions, more robust padding, and handles on the bench. Also, Powertec is presently running a sale. @home gym hacks I'm thinking of buying the powertec levergym. I purchased the workbench and the leg extension attachment. I noticed when I put three 35 pound played on the leg extension the back of the bench lifts up a little bit. I don't like that at all. So if I was to buy the levergym will this still be an issue when using the leg extension?
@HomeGymHacksandReviews
@HomeGymHacksandReviews 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I know what you’re talking about. I mentioned that in my Powertec vs Titan Fitness Leg Extension video. Here’s the issue: if you buy the Levergym it will come with the workbench. Unfortunately, Powertec will not sell just the Levergym machine solo. So you have a couple options: sell the second workbench still in the box and make some money back. Buy a different Powertec product the workbench can connect to: either the smith machine or the power rack (for either of those pieces you will need to purchase the connector separately…it comes with the Levergym). Last option, put some dumbbells or plates on the end of the workbench so it won’t raise up when you do heavy leg extensions.
@drethebarber
@drethebarber 2 жыл бұрын
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews yes those are great options but I want the levergym because of space continent. But I don't want to waste money on it if the bench will lift up when using heavy weight. The workbench latches onto the levergym, right? But does the levergym do a good job at keeping the bench stable? And I will also go and watch video on Titan vs. Powertec. I watch all of your videos.

@@HomeGymHacksandReviews so I guess I'm going to pull the trigger and buy the levergym. My wife and I workout together but it's a real pain to have to stop and change the weight after each set. So this is the main reason I'm buying the levergym and also because of the many different movements that can be done using it. Also space is limited in my garage. With this we can continue to work out together without the hassle of changing weight. I looked at other machines and they usually just do one or two exercises and cost more. Whereas the levergym cost more or less depending on the machine, is more compact, and has a variety of movements to choose from. It's not just for her but for me as well, lol. Once I get it set up I will do a video tour and make sure that I give you a shout out because you have been incredibly helpful. Thanks again and I wish you continued success! P.s. I watched video that you did showing the stretches for the lower back or back in general, and just wanted say thanks. Those exercises are very helpful. If you know any for shoulders man that will be greatly appreciated?

I need some advice please.I have an old workbench model. I am quite short and the pads height for the leg extension-curl is too long for my legs Instead of the pads being up on my shin the pads fall more on my foot ankle junction even if the attachment is at its lowest. I have not found that to be the case. The roller pads on this attachment are better than most in the home gym equipment category. She could try putting a pillow between the pads and her legs for some additional cushioning. Also, the bench’s settings may need to be adjusted to fit her just right.
